Last weekend was the first rain here in months. Oklahoma beat Texas like a drum but that was OK because we got some rain,

A lot of LOB last night. Very frustrating to watch the Tigers right now. As I feared they peaked in early September and are not the same team right now. Have to blame the hitting (mostly), they left something like 15 men on base. Pfft. With numbers like that they deserve to lose. Pitching has not been exemplary either, poor starts and spotting the opponents early leads doesnt help, even if the starters settle down. Fighting from behind has happened too much in the post season.

Yes, but at least the Lions are now 5-0.

... and on a 9 game winning streak going back to last season... 13 if you count preseason... and of course there is the Wisconsin football team also.
Lots to cheer about for now, even if the Tigers flop in this round.

At least the Tigers were able to string a few hits together at crucial times last night.

I think they will need to sweep at home in order to have a chance back in Texas.

Andrew Pujols is one of the best but modesty isn't his strong point. Every time he connects with the ball he goes into his ESPN Highlights pose. Get over yourself and base run.

You can have some of ours, we had 3 "100 year" floods In the last 12 years and the last several months have been record breaking rainfall.

Tigers are on the ropes and the Brewers are not too far behind them, looks like Cardinals and Rangers.

The Brewers played as though they were nervous, making basic mistakes and particularly the base running was little league grade, but this is what I like about play off sports. You can member tell who is going to break down under pressure.

The software is annoying but when I turn it off the Manuel corrections take too much time. That's really annoying! Nearly all of my posts are done through a touchscreen.

Verlander is supposed to be pitching this afternoon, no? If so, good chance it'll wind up back in Arlington.

Verlander is supposed to be pitching this afternoon, no? If so, good chance it'll wind up back in Arlington. Verlander has not pitched well since he won number 24. Leyland spent the last week of the regular season to get Verlander queued up to pitch game #1 against the Yankees, and Verlander missed a regular rotation slot. The next game he pitched he failed at winning #25, and then the rains hit game 1 of the ALDS. So I dont see him as much of a threat. He might pitch well this afternoon, and Detroit might win, but unless something really dramatic happens, Detroit isnt going to win 2 in Arlington. The biggest problem is the hitting has been really spotty, and there are now three of the first string batters injured.

Give me 3 pints of October Fest, 10 warm up pitches and I'll show them all how it's done. My screaming 47 m.p.h. slider will have them handcuffed! I can help the Brewers.

Haven't seen much of either CS except for the few minutes of MLB channel I have managed to watch but both look good. Hope to catch a couple on Sunday if they are still playing.

As I type this, we are now going to the top of the 7th and Texas leads Detroit 12-4. Wait'll next year, Gordon.

This year might do just fine. Texas was hitting well tonight in the house that George W built. The lopsided game didn't look like the same team that couldn't do shit against Detroit all year.

Well, the end was swift and merciful. The only thing missing was the blindfold and last cigarette.
No question the better team won. Detroit was struggling to keep its head above water until the third inng. Texas should win the series based on what Ive seen. I do not think either St Louis or the Brewers have anything to match them right now.

The Rangers considered asking Tony Romo to throw out the first ball, but they were afraid he would throw an interception.

5, if the Cardinals win 2 its because the Rangers were slacking off.
