There you go new thread. 2010 is history. We may just go from baseball season to basketball season in November with the NFL strike so I am going to enjoy every ball game I can watch this season. Come September MLB could see it's biggest gain in attendance and TV go way up it the NFL is down and out.
I think it will be one great season.
Giants single game ticket go on sale Saturday at noon. I will be on line waiting to get my picks. First game we do every year is the Season Night Opener. It's a great game. It's cold, foggy, damp, the beer, dogs, and burgers are better that night than any other.(there goes the 12 pounds that I have lost since 1-1)
I can't wait to get to AT&T park and hear the announcer go, HERE ARE YOUR WORLD SERIES CHAMPION SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS. That should send a shiver up 43,000 fans backs really quick. 52 years in the making it should be great.
Early season favorites according to the MLB channel. Red Soxs in the AL and the Phillies in the NL. According to what they both did in the off season they could be right. Both made some real good moves.
I think the Yanks will put on one more push this year for the AL and the Rockies could be the dark horse in the NL. Well I guess we will have to wait and watch it unfold.
GO GIANTS

I think it will be one great season. Unless you're a fan of the Mets.

I think it will be one great season. Unless you're a fan of the Mets. Mets-Jets maybe it's time you ch-ch-change teams. The Mets might make some nosie in the NL East. Of course you would have to have the Phillies and the Braves roll over and play dead. That might be a tough divison here soon. Washington is beefing up fo a run.

So this must be the NL thread, I suppose the other can be the AL thread... now we need an Interleague play thread.

Yes, and if we could have individual threads for each game of each team, that would be particularly helpful.

The Tiger's spent big bucks in the off season, and they are balls deep into "win now" mode. Victor Martinez is on board and will probably be the main DH, and substitute in at Catcher. Joquin Benoit fills a big void in the bullpen.
Tige's could make a good run for the division, whether they have the depth to make a full run into November remains to be seen.

Holy crap! I haven't looked at the schedule lately -- is the Series expected to end in November this year? Insane!

Ooops, they did make a ch-ch-change in the schedule this year to guarantee that the World Series would in fact not slip into November. My bad.
From last summer...

That's more like it. I thought I remembered hearing about an earlier start for precisely that reason, but didn't remember if it was supposed to begin this year or next.

I don't think that will happen this season. Might be the wild card but he will be there.

Pitchers and catchers reported today so the 2011 season is on it's way. Be glad when baseball hit TV. At least there will be something decent to watch.

Did you notice that NBC tried to placate fans suffering football withdrawal this past weekend by showing rugby?

They have also been running ads promoting the fact that they have next year's Super Bowl (optimistic, no?).

Will the Cardinals fall apart now that Albert has put his contract talks on hold until after the season.
Will they trade him before the end of the season?
Will they even try to resign him after the season?
If he has a crappy season will his value go down?
How about a major injury will that lower his retail value?
If he has a great season will his value go up?
|

Will they trade him before the end of the season? I would say that would depend on the type of season both he and the team are having, which might also address some of your other questions.

The question is, who can afford to pay $30 million a year for this guy? Al least that's the number that they were talking about on the MLB channel yesterday.
