First big loss of the season. St. Louis Cardinal ace Adam Wainwirght is out for the season for Tommy John surgery. Ocho that hurts that rotation big time. That give the Reds a big opening to win the NL-Central and maybe some room for the Cubs to slide in their. Wainwright

NL Central might be (at least) a 3 team race for most of the season.

I am pissed. There is one major draw back when your team wins the World Series. THE FUCKING TICKET PRICE GO WAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY UP. BASTARDS.
For the past few year Denice and I have been attending 20 to 25 Giants games per year. The average ticket price has been around $50.00. Usually the seats that we sit in will run $35 to $40 for a week night game and maybe $65.00 for a Saturday night game. Add $10 more when the Dodgers come to town. That has been acceptable.
I have been checking ticket price for a few game that we would like to attend in April. For the seats that we usually get they are now $115 to $150 for a week night and $175 to $250 for a Saturday game. Fuck that shit. I'll sit in my living room and watch the game for nothing. The beer is cheaper, the hot dogs, burgers, popcorn, ice cream, etc. is lot cheaper and I don't have to wait in line to pee.
Looks like we are going to do only about 5 games right know. FUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It would cost us a couple of hundred for a family of four to see one game. Tickets around $55 and high parking costs stopped us.

Last season the cost for one night at AT&T Parks. Tickets (2) $80.00, Bridge Toll $6.00, Parking with a 3/4 mile walk to park $25.00, 2 beers $19.00, 2 hot dogs for me $9.00, 1 hamburger for Denice $7.00, i extra large coke $7.00, 2 hot fudge sundays $12.00, bag of peanuts $6.00, 1 jack and 7 $10.00, 1 Baileys and coffee $10.00, new tee shirt(2) and hat in Dugout store, $60.00, waiting in line to pee and missing a home run priceless..........................
And that's just when Denice and I go alone. We brought the whole gang last year , both daughters, son-in-law, and both grandkids........................bankrupticy. That was 2010 I would hate to see what it will be this season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We talked about this evening over dinner and right now we are going to be watching a lot of games at home this season. I just bought a 15" TV for the outside deck area, so I am ready to go.

If the team starts under-performing and attendance drops, they may suddenly find some wiggle room in the price of those tickets.

If they dont you can make the adjustment by peeing on the field rather than waiting in line.

Spring Training nearing an end. The Giants are on top in Arizona, my Tigers on top in Florida. I get real nervous when Detroit does well in spring training, there have been a lot of seasons that a great start in Florida turns to big disappointment when the real season starts.

Spring training records don't worry me since the starts are not used like they would be in a regular game. Sometime to many wins in spring means that the teams you played don't put their best on the field.

Yeah I know, but there is this history Detroit has of following up very good spring trainings with disappointing regular seasons.

My picks for 2011
AL East- Boston, NY(wildcard) Central- Minnesota (this is going to be the best race in baseball this year, Detroit and the ChiSox will not be far behind, third place will probably only end up two games back of the winner. If Cabrera isnt overly distracted by his DUI fallout, he could be the AL homerun champ and that could drag Detroit up to the division title) West- Texas (watch out for Oakland though)
NL East- Phillies, (watch out for the Braves, but it would take a major injury on the Phillies to happen) Central- Milwaukee, Cinci(wildcard) West- Giants
World Series- Boston v Philadelphia (sorry Joe) with Boston in 7
Tampa Bay.. sorry guys, their time has past.

AL
East----------- Yankee's Central-------- Twins (if Mauer stay healthy) West-----------Texas---A's real close behind
Wild Card------ Red Sox
Yankee's are the sleeper team.
NL
East-------- Phillies Central----- Reds West-------- Rockies
Wild Card---------- Giants with the Brewers real close behind
World Series.
Yankee's VS Phillies Yankee's in 7 if they have home field
Yankee's pitching might bit them in the ass, but after that not many ch-ch-changes in the line up. A-Rod has had a excellent spring, I think he going to have a big year if no injuries. Jeter is not going to go down quitely, I look for a good year from he also. They have the best infield in baseball IMHO. Russell Martin is a good catcher.
I don't think the Giants can pull it off 2 years in a row. If it wasn't for all the ch-ch-changes they made after the all star break, they would have come up real short. Question in left field, short stop, and I hope Posey doesn't get the 2nd year jinx. Pitching looks good but Zeto?
The Red Sox's look good on paper but can they make it work?
