I lost a little bit of my innocence the day Earl the Pearl left the Bullets to join Frazier in the back court at the Garden. Sports changed forever on that day for me.

Although this obit didn't mention it, I believe he was also creator of the show "Julia", which, I believe, may have been the 1st TV sitcom that starred a black female (Diahann Carroll).
