According to this post by everyone's favorite Dive Master, Hedo has begun their new towel exchange program. The debate "over there" is already heating up. What do youse guys over here think about it?.....Jake (who will weigh in a little later so as not to bias the poll)

You left off a potential answer.. "It wont work because towel theft will become rampant"

My poll options were only Very positive/negative, Slightly positive/negative, or Neutral. Reasons for ones attitude can be posted in your reply. Yours sounds like the very negative option.

I think another class of rooms is in order... the "Unlimited Towel" block... lets see, Garden View, Nude, Unlimited Towels, far from the disco, with a whirlpool.

Hedo should rename this from The Towel Exchange Program to The Please Stop Vacationing Here Program.

BTW, I wonder if Jake will show as much enthusiasm when they start instituting a Drink Card program at Hedo, or start with that beads nonsense like they do (or used to) at Club Med. One Drink Card to limit you to a certain number of drinks a day? Yep, that's next.

Damn, I didnt even notice. My parents always regarded me as special, theyd be so proud.
As always, its quantity not quality that counts. I want to thank Snopes for the inspiration for at least 1/2 of my posts.
Returning to regular programming...

Looks like I will have to step outside my comfort zone and start hitting on the single women in hopes that one or more might find me towel worthy and be willing to share. I think that is the only proper way to keep my stash of towels at an acceptable level.

Towel-worthy...that's a hoot! Good one!
I'm thinking I'm outvoted on DP's. Oh well! If you don't shoot.... What kinda pissed me off was the person who says I should be writing Gary et. al. to complain. Hello? Why isn't that person writing everyone then too? Why do I have to always be the heavy? People think that by writing on DPs their words go straight to the ear of mgmt....ha ha ha.
My efforts to get Matt the Mayor banned from Hedo didn't work either even though two women wrote details and complaints of their being physically accosted this fall by his fingers and others wrote of his scariness and rudeness. I'm scared to go back in case he's there when I'm there.
At least all this means that I likely won't get thrown out of Hedo when I start stealing towels (not from guests...from campus locations) so I have enough each day (which I've never done before). I wonder what you'd have to do to get thrown out of Hedo.
Hey, Devin, they didn't kick us out for trying to short out the speak wires with our you know what either!
Signed, grumpy girl

Okay, I posted my vote, as "willing to give it a try."
Personally, what this towel program purports to do is what I ALREADY do, use one towel per day and turn it in for a fresh one each day. The upside, in my mind, is that people won't be able to reserve multiple beach chairs. That practice really pisses me off, and I'd like to see them have to put up their own personal belongings if they want to risk it......Jake

If they really enforce this policy (which I doubt), then folks who've lost a towel would be happy to pay $10 for a black-market towel to turn in. Maybe all the towels that have been stolen over the years will start finding their way BACK to the resort?

Im one of those people, I get up early, and am resourceful enough to find or have saved from the previous day, sufficient towels to reserve enough real estate for those I feel worthy. At 8am there are plenty of chairs to go around, why shouldnt I be able to reserve those that I want to, and have the ability and wherewithal to grab. If you dont like it, get here at 7:59 and grab them first.

I marked the I really don't give a shit.
We get four towel the first day, then turn in to and grab two new one each day. We beenhave to other resorts that have check in check out daily on towels and it works just fine.
We also bring two towels from home for the back if they are out as they have been in the past.
One way or another we will make it work. It's no big fucking deal.
Joe.

I am going to add one more thing to this list. It has been said by others before and also by me. If you don't like their policies, food, rooms, etc. stay the fuck home or go some place else, so we don't have to listen to you bitch about it here. I am not point a finger at any one person here just a general statement on my part.
Joe
Edited to add: I find it very childish for people bitch over a fucking beach towel. You only have one body so you only need one towel. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Hell, I only use one towel at HOME for weeks on end. It's not like it gets dirty. I only use it after a shower, when I'm perfectly clean. In theory, it should get CLEANER every time I use it!......Jake

At 8am there are plenty of chairs to go around, why shouldnt I be able to reserve those that I want to, and have the ability and wherewithal to grab. If you dont like it, get here at 7:59 and grab them first Our British DNA is pre-programmed with an inbuilt sense of fair play, so as a nation we find the practice of getting up early to save loungers abhorrent. The Germans however have no such reservations and are happy to get up at the crack of dawn to save all the real estate for themselves. This has led to many reenactments of WWII as Brits and Germans battle over the rights and wrongs of saving loungers. The problem is so bad that many resorts and hotels in the Mediterranean will take bookings from only Brits or Germans, but not both. So for my own part, I don't like the practice and think the playing field should be level for everyone, BUT, I'm happy to get down to the pool early to save chairs in places where to NOT do so would guarantee I wouldn't have a chair. Simon (who recalls getting involved in an ugly situation in Spain many years ago when a German couple returned from the beach to the hotel pool at 4pm, and were furious to find my girlfriend and I using the loungers they had reserved at dawn, and left unoccupied all day, until we finally occupied them at 3pm)
