What the hell, why not start now.
Ozzie kicked out of Miami after only one year and Ferrell moves from Toronto to Boston.
It will be interesting to see how well Ferrell fits in Boston. I know some Blue Jay fans who are in a "dont let the door hit you in the ass" mood. Given he was "traded" for a couple players, and Ozzie was traded for three players a year ago, I have to wonder if a new trend is developing where managerial skills are treated on a par with on the field skills... coaching draft next new thing in baseball.

Ferrell, sooner or later, is going to be ripped to shreds in Boston. He's been making it known for the past year that he wanted to manage in Boston, and it sounds like the players are with him. That being the case, it might work. If it doesnt, 2013 in Boston could make 2012 look like a walk in the park.
Valentine in Miami? Not sure I would go there if I were him. 7 managers in 7 years and two of those went on to lead other teams into the playoffs? Not exactly a place to pad the resume, and after Boston, his career could be on the line. If he goes, he will need a bigger hand than the owner has given other recent managers... good luck there.

BTW- Rumors circulating that Jim Leyland will be leaving Detroit after the series is over. His contract is up and hasnt been renewed. Earlier in the season speculation was that he would be let go because of the way Detroit had been underperforming, now the word is retirement.
GOD NO, NOT VALENTINE

Nope, Leyland will be back. Seems that getting swept in the WS means that its not time to retire...

Valverde is gone... no loss there, he can practice his "entry onto the field of play" routine now without the hassle of having to workout his pitching arm.
Delmon Young is gone. Mediocre shortstop, but a bat that seemed to come alive in clutch situations. Hopefully, Martinez, who missed the entire season can come back and fill that role.

Haven't keep up with this post but as far as the Giants go they need to resign Scuturo and Pagan. They also may have a little contest for closer next year between Romo and Wilson. Oh yeah is Lincencum done?

Lincecum might look good in a Mets uniform. Scutaro & Pagan might look good in a Mets uniform *again*.

The Mets just didn't work out for him. I still think he is a better player than the way he has performed.

AP source: Marlins trade 3 stars to Blue Jays
MIAMI (AP) — The Miami Marlins' spending spree a year ago didn't work, so now they're trying another payroll purge, shedding some of their biggest stars and their multimillion-dollar salaries in one blockbuster deal.
Rebranded in a new ballpark at the start of 2012, the Marlins were up to their old ways Tuesday, swapping high-priced talent for top prospects. Miami traded All-Star shortstop Jose Reyes, left-hander Mark Buehrle and ace right-hander Josh Johnson to the Toronto Blue Jays, a person familiar with the agreement said.
The person confirmed the trade to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the teams weren't officially commenting. The person said the trade sent several of the Blue Jays' best young players to Miami.

The Marlins are like Stalin's Russia, every once in a while you kill off the entire leadership below the guy on top and start over.
Edited: I would have a very hard time being a Marlins fan. One of the things I value as a fan of any team in any sport is continuity from one season to the next and within a season. These dumping of players would drive me away from any team that would do it. I understand trading players for strategic reason, to get a certain player for a certain position, or filling a gap to improve a team. But these wholesale trades... I would lose interest in a team pretty quickly.

I'm grateful for the Marlins' fire sales -- that's how the Mets got Piazza. Too bad Reyes isn't coming back to the Mets.

I think the Marlin thought that in 2012 the would shoot to the top of the NL East and take control. New Stadium, Ozzie as manager. Jose Reyes deal and a few others. Things started to fall to shit so the dump Handley Ramirez and the the ship shank. It doesn't surprise me they are cleaning house and trying to start over.

True, but we should have Victor Martinez back. It will be interesting to see how he is after a year off... he could be the DH if he cant play position
