Call me maudlin, but for some reason tonight, I was thinking about board members who have passed on. Shuffled off this mortal coil. Achieved room temperature. Joined the Choir Invisible. You know; croaked.
And I thought it only fitting that we have a thread for them. There are more than a few at this point. So this is the thread for listing them, eulogizing them, remembering them. I'll post my own memories, but feel free to add your own.

The first member we lost was the infamous LOU, in November of 2005. A real mouth-foaming liberal, he supplied us with priceless entertainment for several years. His demise was met with universal sadness, from both those who agreed with his insane rantings, and those who saw him for the nutjob that he was. I wish I had a link to his avatars, but I don't think he ever had one. All I have is this thread discussing his departure from the land of the living..... tnmc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Mordor&action=display&thread=3909And of course his inspiration of the Golden Louie awards! These were first discussed in this thread: tnmc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Whatever&action=display&thread=3375

Our next board loss was Mugsey, aka John from Long Island, in May of 2011. A great Hedo type dude, who liked nothing better than having a good time. The world would be a much better place if we were all more like him. Here is the thread discussing his departure from the land of the living: tnmc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Mordor&action=display&thread=11690

Given my recent diagnosis of bile duct cancer, I believe that I will soon be joining this list. If you didn't pick me for the Dead Pool, you may have missed a golden opportunity!

That is very sad news, and I certainly hope you can make a miraculous recovery. In any case, like fellow sufferer Walter Payton, you will definitely live on in legend here at the TNMC.

To quote Woody Allen, I'd rather achieve immortality through not dying! Here's to seconding that emotion! I'd rather you stick around, too! Also, since we seem to be updating the board these days, there have been some other passings since I last updated this thread many moons ago. Specifically: - Truck - an occasional poster from the UK, passed away around April 2021 from cancer, I believe - Louie DelGaudio - a Bubbly Bare from New Jersey, who succumbed around May or June 2021 - Michael “Mike the Cop” aka "Nued Mike" Brozzoski - died of COVID in January of 2022 - Peggy (of Harvey and Peggy) Comrie - passed in February of 2022 - Rasta Bill Schulze, not a poster here, but a friend to many of us, passed around September 2022 (I heard about it Dec 2022) - Norm “Storm!” Rudolph - felled by lung cancer, February 13, 2023 - Laura “Muffy” of Laura and Jef, passed after a long hard fight with cancer, around March or April 2023 Not all were TNMC board members, but all were Hedo/DennyP folks. All were cherished; all are missed.

Thanks for the update; I had no idea that so many had left us over the past couple of years, especially of cancer or COVID.

Could be another potential: Ian from Boston of Angela-and-Ian fame (who went by JustIAN here) has gone missing! His wife is frantic, and hasn't heard from him in about a week. It doesn't sound hopeful. Wishing them both the best, of course. I'll try to remember to update this post if any new news pops up.
Edit, May 2024. Still no word on Ian, although I've heard that she found his cell phone, left at home, and wiped of all data. That doesn't sound good!
