In all my years playing and watching baseball I don't recall seeing a play at the plate like that before.
Play offs are better than finals many times and this will be no exception.

Bad night for NY sports -- both Yanks *and* Jets lost.

Giant's and A's force game 5, after being down 0-2. Can they pull it off? A 3 game sweep to win it 3-2.
Cardinals and Yanks up 2-1. Damn Cardinals still think it's 2011. Can the Nats make a come back? Are the O's done?

Two back-to-back walk-off wins last night was fun to watch. I was surprised to see it raining in Oakland, though. Isn't it a bit early for that there?

Tigers in 5.
I hope that they get to play Baltimore. If they have to lose, Id rather they lose to the Orioles than the Yankees.

So, I guess Joe can officially call off the dogs in the hunt for his A's cap and go back to his Giants avatar.

I hope that they get to play Baltimore. If they have to lose, Id rather they lose to the Orioles than the Yankees. Look at the bright side: Verlander will likely have 3 starts if it goes 7.

Yanks win. O's had their chance in the 8th but couldnt finish the job.
My guess Sabathia/Verlander in game 3 and game 7 if it goes that far... Yankees in 6.

You're right -- I retract my previous post ... forgot to take the rotation and schedule into consideration. They just announced on the postgame that the earliest either of these guys could pitch would be game 3, so neither of them will get 3 starts if this goes 7.

A guy on NPR this afternoon estimated that all 4 series going to game 5 was about a 1 in 50.
The commish has to be happy how things have worked out so far.

The Yanks won't have any rest going into the series, so that may give Detroit a bit of an advantage.

Well, it's Cards-Giants in the NLCS. If the Cards & O's win the pennant, then we can look forward to an all-avian World Series.

Big question.. is it the beginning of the end of ARod? Benched in a game 5, and he has what? 5 years left on his contract? could be a big anchor for the Yankees unless he can rally.
