Here are this weeks games on the road to the Super Bowl. In the long run Falcons and the Colts are the only teams that I think out of this group that might make the Super Bowl .
Colts at Chargers Colts will win they are hot
Ravens at Dolphins Ravens have the better defense
Eagles at Vikings Eagles. McNab is hot
Falcons at Cardinals Falcons on role could be the NFC Champs
I will still say that the Tennessee Titans are the team to beat.

Titans vs Giants would be a great matchup on the field for the SB... not to mention a classic nickname matchup

Can you imagine the coaches or management of ANY team headed to the Super Bowl allowing their players to play in this the week before? ... and if they dont, is it really a showcase for the "leagues best" players? Link

At most maybe 6 players would be out of the game depending on the who is in the Super Bowl. But if I was the head coach of one of those teams no way would they play in that game.
All the other major sports, MLB, NBA and the NHL all have their all star games at or near mid-season.

i hate to say it joe, but i think the colts have a pretty good shot too. Peyton Manning has really stepped up, and according to King his knee is much better.
i would love to see the titans in it, but my guess is colts v giants. My wife and i are adopting the falcons as our playoff hopeful this year, and will watch Matt Ryan with great interest. the east was so tight this year he only got one game shown in boston all year. so the playoffs will be fun.
stupid football.

Well a little come back Sunday so 2 for 2 this weekend.
Next week we get serious.
NFC
Eagle @ Giants. Giants have the edge here because they are at home.
Cardinals @ Panthers. Panthers will take it, they are the better team.
AFC
Chargers @ Steelers. Steeler will win. Charges are not a cold weather team
Ravens @ Titans. Titans are the team to beat.

Just shows you how difficult it is to repeat. Giants faded in December, partly due to the loss/distraction of Burress, IMO. Having to rely mostly on the ground game, Manning became extremely limited in his ability to go deep.

Congrats, Lady Di, on the Eagles winning! So far the Chargers and Steelers are both looking ready to play. Since I've lived in San Diego on more than one occasion, and the city treated me and Marge good when we were there during the Bucs' Super Bowl win, I'll pull for the Chargers to win.

Congrats! That would be pretty super, a Steelers/Eagles Super Bowl. I can remember being in the N. California area when there was a possibility of an Oakland Raiders/San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl. There was in 1995, a meeting of San Francisco and San Diego in the Super Bowl. And in 1991, Buffalo met NY Giants.

Well damn 1 for 4 this weekend. The road teams winning 3 of the 4 games, unheard of at this point in the playoffs. All top seeds out.
Ok NFC Championship.
The bird will win.
Tough pick both teams are playing good football right know, and both have first class QB's.
The Cardinals have never been there, but the Eagle chopped them up during the regular season.
Cardinals by 3
AFC Championship.
This Ravens team reminds me of the Ravens team that won the Super Bowl in 2000. Tough defense. Steelers are home and looked good today.
Steelers by 7
Joe ( so it will be Eagles vs Ravens in the Super Bowl because I didn't pick either one of them)

I'll go with the Eagles vs the Steelers. And then I'll pick the Eagles.

I'm thinking Eagles/Steelers also, but no pick yet (the thought of McNabb vs. Roethlisberger is too good to even want to make a pick at this point, but we'll see ... )

Yeah, gonna have to put some risk on the line. You know, like if you lose, you gotta sing online for us, or something like that. Or have a photo done with the team jersey of the team that won (that you didn't pick).
But I agree - I'll wait until the Super Bowl to decide for sure. But I still think I'll lean toward the Eagles. But first, they gotta get there.

Two words. Ray Lewis
If he can get Trent Dilfer a Super Bowl Ring he can certainly get one for Joe Flacco too.

These playoffs have certainly made the old saying" Any given team can win on any given Sunday (or Saturday)" true.
As we found out last year, your regular season record doen't count for a damn thing. It's the team that's playing the best football at this time of the year that counts.
Joe.

Right. The best team doesn't necessarily win -- but the one with the hottest streak *might*. That's what took the Giants to the top last year.
