Here is the Kelley Blue Book Value:
December 10, 2007 1994 Harley-Davidson FLSTN Hrtg Sftl Spcl 2-Cylinder 4-Stroke 1340cc Suggested Retail Value $11560
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the unit has been fully reconditioned and is in excellent condition. Mileage/condition and additional equipment may have a substantial impact on the value shown above. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the unit's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions.

AT LAST!!
It's taken me five months to work my way through the boxed DVD sets, but last night I finally watched the final episode of Sopranos. What a ride the past few months have been as I belatedly discovered exactly why this incredible show has kept its fans so hooked over the years. It's been the best television I have ever watched and I can't believe I didn't find this show years ago. But better late than never!!

You say five months like it's a long time, but in my mind, I can't believe you got through it so quickly. Glad you liked it!

I got through it so fast because I was so totally hooked. I watched a couple of episodes back to back two or three times a week, and would order the next season about a week before I finished the one I was watching, and still managed to fit the boxed DVD set of Rome season II in there somewhere too. I feel sad though that I've finally reached the end of the show, and I'm now feeling the same withdrawal pains that you all felt last year when it finished on TV.

Speaking of withdrawal pains, the other thing you have to keep in mind is that thanks to the series being on DVD, you were able to move from one season to another rather quickly. For those of us who watched the series while it was on the air, we often had to wait over a year before the next season would start. Chase claimed part of the reason he did that was to be able to have enough time to keep the level of writing on the series at a high quality -- in the end, he was probably right ... but that wait between seasons was a tough one.

It did cross my mind more than once that my enjoyment of the show was virtually seamless, and I didn't have to wait for months on end for each new season... that must have been agony for you!! The only thing that really spoiled it for me was a reference to Tony killing Christopher in some completely unrelated article in a TV listings magazine a couple of months ago. Knowing that was going to happen so early on really spoiled some of Christopher's story lines for me, especially in the final season.

With all of the attention this show has gotten in the media, avoiding spoilers was nearly impossible -- some of the gossip columns in the NY papers would print them under the heading "Spoiler Alert" prior to the start of the season.

It's weird but the show was never big here. But now it's over suddenly everyone is watching it. Every store that sells DVDs seems to have displays selling all the season's boxed sets, one of the networks is re-running it from the beginning, and if you mention it to people you get "Yeah I just got into it..."

Depending on the network on which it's being re-run, you may be better off watching the series from the DVD's. It's being re-run on a basic cable station here in the U.S. (A&E, I believe), but since it's not a Premium Channel like HBO, they have edited out a lot of the sex, violence and language from the original airing of these episodes -- as a result, you don't really get the full flavor of what the show was like, IMO.

I can't see the point in watching edited versions of TV shows and movies, and often there seems to be no reason for the edits. Last year, when I flew to NY, I watched Casino Royale on the plane and couldn't understand why they cut out the entire scene where Bond has a heart attack and is shocked back to life with a portable defibrillator, yet left in the torture scene where his testicles were hit repeatedly with a knotted rope. It made no sense, and I know which scene I found most disturbing!! Simon (who is still laughing about Phil Phil Leotardo's head getting run over by the SUV after he got whacked)

That is what made the scene for me too!! I watched it three or four times because it was so hilarious, as I often did with scenes that I found particularly clever, thought provoking, or just plain funny.

If I had to pick one scene in the entire series that made me laugh the hardest, it was probably when Janice whacked her boyfriend, Richie Aprile.
If I had to pick one *episode* that was the funniest -- no doubt, "The Pinebarrens" (when Paulie & Christopher got lost in the woods).

It's when Tony was telling Dr Melfi her life was in danger and she would have to go into hiding because 'certain people' knew she was his therapist and thought he might be telling her all their secrets. Dr Melfi told Tony she couldn't go into hiding because "I have patients who are suicidal!!" Tony replies "Well they're not gonna feel any better about their life if you get clipped..." And just for you Beeb : That kid puking gets me every time. Simon

"Bye-bye, Pop-pop!"
That crunch sound was a nice touch, too.
RE: Pine Barrens, back when that episode originally aired, I worked with a couple of folks who were also Sopranos fans; the show aired on Sunday nights and on Monday morning, we would conduct our postmortem on the previous night's episode. After that episode aired, we all were certain that Russian who escaped would turn up again in a later episode -- if not that season, then in a subsequent one. He never did.

It's great writing to fly in the face of what the viewers think they want, which is closure about the fate of the Russian, and instead leave them with a never to be answered mystery.

There were 2 storylines which I thought would be resolved in the last season ~ what happened to the Russian and Carmela finding out that Tony ordered Adriana killed.
David Chase, being the genius that he is, decided to leave a few loose ends dangling, just as happens in real life.
The writing, directing and acting on this series were equivalent to mini Academy-award winning movies. I watched many episodes 3-4 times and always found something new that I had initially missed with the repeat viewings. The writing was so multi-layered, and was able to blend drama with comedy with pathos so beautifully.
I think it will be a long time before we see a TV series that has the impact of the Sopranos.
Jo (My favourite episode is also Pine Barrens, I laugh everytime I think of Christopher and Paulie sucking ketchup from those little packets!)

After a new episode was originally aired, they would re-run it several times throughout the week until the next episode; I would make it a habit to watch almost all of those repeats before the next episode because there were so many subtle nuances that I would miss on the initial viewing or two because I was concentrating on other things (e.g., the story or the dancers at The Bing) Jo (My favourite episode is also Pine Barrens, I laugh everytime I think of Christopher and Paulie sucking ketchup from those little packets!) Or when Paulie lost his shoe?

Or when Paulie lost his shoe? I found the whole scenario of the two ruthless killers getting lost in the woods and being cold, hungry and scared (as well as minus one shoe) and blaming each other hilarious. It was such clever writing to combine the brutality of these people's existence with wonderful comedic undertones. Simon (who now plans to re-watch The Pine Barrens before going to bed)

As planned, I re-watched 'Pine Barrens' last night, and laughed my way through it, especially at my favourite lines after Tony has told Paulie, over a bad cell phone connection, that the Russian worked for the Interior Ministry as a commando, "Guy's like a Russian green beret" and single handedly killed sixteen Chechen rebels. Paulie retells this to Christopher as :
"You're not gonna believe this. He killed sixteen Czechoslovakians. Guy was an interior decorator."
To which a puzzled looking Christopher replies "His house looked like shit."

Gotta agree that the two episodes mentioned, with the "Pine Barrens" winning out, were the best episodes of the Sopronos. I am now thinking I should go buy all the seasons!!!
