Selig takes over the Dodgers, interesting... if memory serves me, that puts them on par with the Montreal Expos.

Unfucking believable. What a divorce will do. This was on of the storied franchises in baseball let alone professional sports. I think they should be forced to sell and let a new owner take over.
I don't see the Dodgers ever moving from LA like the Expos from Montreal. There are not enough markets to support these type of teams. My top 5 professional sporting franchises. Not based on championships just the organization.
New York Yankees Los Angeles Dodgers (used to be) Los Angeles Lakers Green Bay Packers Boston Red Sox

I was actually expecting MLB to take ownership of the Mets. If they have taken ownership of the Dodgers, I doubt they'd take on the Mets, too.

I wouldnt go looking for Obama to swap GM shares for Mets either.
Hopefully the players will be ok, its always the kids that suffer in a messy divorce.

Put the Rays in that top 5.
We climbed to .500 for the first time this season with a win over the ChiSox last night. I always like beating an Ozzie Guillen team.

If you ever get a chance, watch a Met game. Sometimes they make errors and mistakes you don't see happen very often.
Like eating potato chips, it seems once they make one error, they have to have another and another. Still, I like watching them when they play well, you can always count on the Mets for good baseball entertainment.

Boston Celtics might be a candidate too. Montreal Canadians in an older time. The Detroit Red Wings would definitely be a good hockey franchise representative.

The Cowboys with Jones as owner suck. The Celtics would be in the top 10. I don't follow hockey so I don't know much about those franchises.

I was spraying last night so I was listening to "Up all night with Jason Smith" on ESPN radio. He was talking about the Dodgers and said that Steve Garvey and his investment group are interested in purchasing them.

After a seriously slow start the Rays are now KICKING BUTT!! They have won 4 straight and 7 out of the last 10 games and are just 3 games behind the Yankees. They kicked the Twinkies 15 - 3 in game one this afternoon and are starting game two shortly (a doubleheader). We have tickets tomorrow night to watch them beat the Angels!

That's baseball. You can be getting your ass kicked for 10 games in a row and then come back like gang busters and win 10 in a row. It's a long season.

Fuck the injury bug has taken a big bite out of the Giants. With Zito, DeRosa, Torres already down the Kung Fu Panda Pablo Sandoval will be lost to us for 4 to 6 weeks with a broken bone in his hand. He is the only on who has been hitting on a regular bases.

If he had kept the weight on, he would've had more meat on his hand to protect his bones.

Beeb, when I was listening to the Giants post game show last night they mentioned that the Giants could be interested in trading for Jose Reyes.
I think we should trade the Mets , Zito, Torres, DeRosa and The Panda for Reyes.

They are having a 3 day party for him this weekend. We are going to Saturday night game.
If he would have lost time in the army he would have been the all time home run leader instead of that human turd that holds the record now.

That was a stupid move on Willie's part. Of course he had no idea that he would be a human turd.

The Rays dropped 6 straight to open the season but as of last night they are now in 1st place in the East. Go Rays.
On a personal side note this climb to the top was aided by two straight losses by the Yankees to the Royals. One of my son's college friends was call up by the Royals a couple of weeks ago. He picked up his first major league save two nights ago in Yankee Stadium. He retired A-Rod, Nunez, & Swisher in a row for the save. Very exciting times.
My son is planning a KC road trip this summer to experience MLB from the inside. It should be fun

Verlander came within 10 outs of back to back no hitters, Tiges are on a rampage right now too.
Edited: Theyve won 10 out of their last 11, but that follows a 7 game losing streak. A Jeckle and Hyde team, but still 3 1/2 behind the best in the majors Cleveland Indians.

A quarter of the way threw the season and the Cleveland Indians have the best record in baseball 26-13 and a five game in in the AL Central!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Going to be a interesting season.

Yup and the Tigers Jeckle/Hyde bipolar disorder continues. Their Mr Hyde face is showing again after a 7 game losing streak, then winning 10 out of 11, they are now back with a 4 game losing streak. Cant seem to string two hits into one inning. In Boston Wednesday night they left 6 men on base in scoring position. They even had 2 lead off doubles and a one out double that they couldnt manage to get across the plate. Disgusting.
