Texas looked flat and St Louis was on their game. They deserved to win. Tex, it was difficult to overcome that crushing loss on Thursday. Take some comfort in this: there aren't too many teams that can say they played in back-to-back World Series. Even if the team didn't win, it is a significant accomplishment to make it there two consecutive years.

When St.Louis score the two runs right back in the first I knew Texas was done. Great series St. Louis pulled off a great feat down by 10 the end of August to win the World series.
I feel sorry Texas I hope they make it back again next year.

I just want to know how much Texas got for losing!! What's his name, who ran back in right field last night with two outs, looking like someone taped his DICK to his tongue, then suddenly was like, "OH SHIT! THE BALL IS SO HIGH OVER ME!" - I mean WHAT THE FUCK??
It's the FUCKING WORLD SERIES and you TIPPY TOE with two outs and the game on the line?
Cruz . . . . that's the fucker. WTF?? I still can't believe we didn't see that one over and over again. What a dumb fuck.

Bob, they havnt published the winners and losers shares for this year yet, and probably wont for another week or so, but last year each of the Giants got about $365K and each of the Rangers $265K. Here is the schedule for the players
Player’s Pool 60% of the total gate receipts from the first four World Series Games, 60% of the total gate receipts from the first four games of the American League Championship and National League Championship, and 60% of the total gate receipts of the first three games of each of the four Division series are put into a “Player’s Pool.” From that pool of money it get distributed as follows...
World Series Winning Team: 36% World Series Losing Team: 24% League Championship Series Losers: 12% each Division Series Losers: 3% each Non-Wild Card Second Place Teams: 1% each

Wasnt expecting that, but its not too surprising. Always go out on a high note, and leave 'em wanting more. OTOH, he might be a sleeper contender for next year's Dead List

I expect he'll wind up with some kind of cushy front office job either with the Cards or with MLB as Torre did.

I had an idea that he would retire. It was the last year of his contract.

You have to wish the best for him. He retired at the top of his game.

He retired at the top of his game. Not many get that chance.

Even rarer is that he retired right after winning a World Series. Off the top of my head, I can't recall any manager who did that before.

Jacoby Ellsbury.

MVP is supposed to go to the player that had the most positive effect on his team over the season. Ellsbury had great numbers, and probably would have gotten the nod, and deserved it, if Boston had not collapsed (I have no idea what his numbers were for September, but that might have been a factor).
