The movie quote thread has been so interesting, I thought that a music lyrics thread would be fun to try too... Same rules as before, name the song and the artist(s) and multiple artists if remakes are out there...
Start with this...
Oh, well, the night is long the beads of time pass slow, Tired eyes on the sunrise, waiting for the eastern glow. The pain of war cannot exceed the woe of aftermath, The drums will shake the castle wall, the ring wraiths ride in black, Ride on.
Sing as you raise your bow, shoot straighter than before. No comfort has the fire at night that lights the face so cold.
Oh dance in the dark of night, Sing to the morning light. The magic runes are writ in gold to bring the balance back. Bring it back.
At last the sun is shining, The clouds of blue roll by, With flames from the dragon of darkness, the sunlight blinds his eyes.

Easy enough: The Battle Of Evermore Led Zeppelin
Lyrics: Where we once were divided, now we stand united We stand as one... undivided. How many hands? How many hearts? How many dreams been torn apart? Enough, enough... the time has come to rise back as
Muffy (who may not watch many movies or TV but generally always has Music going)

OK - I'm not real good at this stuff but -
Bon Jovi - Welcome To Where You are?
IF thats right I'll toss this one out (one of my favorite groups):
Back over time when we were all trying for free
met you with porpoise and me
no right no wrong you're selling a song - a name
whisper game.

Sorry! Forgot the rules!! Plus I wasn't sure that was right. I've killed a few brain cells since that song came out!
Once again:
Back over time when we were all trying for free
met you with porpoise and me
no right no wrong you're selling a song - a name
whisper game.

Heart, Barracuda?
In case my guess was correct, here's another one:
Did you see any action? Did you make any friends? Would you like some affection? (…before I leave again.) I been walking behind you Since you been able to see. There's never been any reason For you to think about me.

Sinatra!! Come fly with me
Toss me a cigarette, I think there's one in my raincoat We smoked the last one an hour ago So I looked at the scenery, she read her magazine And the moon rose over an open field

I think the song is called "America" Here's one: Rolled in from another town, Hit some gold too hot to settle down, But a fool and his money soon go separate ways, And you found a fool lyin' in a daze, Ha Ha woman what you gonna do, You destroyed all the virtues that the Lord gave you, It's so good that you're feeling pain, But you better get yourself on board the very next train.

I was aiming for Janis Joplin above.
Here's a new, albeit silly one:
Bom bom bom bompa bom Sail the ship Bompa bom Chop the tree bompa bom Skip the rope bompa bom Look at me

But dont be fooled by the radio The tv or the magazines They show you photographs of how your life should be But they're just someone elses fantasy--Grand Illusion, Styx (who actually played ay my HS before making it big. OK this one is funner than my last OH Christie! Where are you?…“Back when I met you, I didn't Have a clue, Of the horrible agony you would Put me through, But, now that we've done some time and I know who you are, You're so full of shit, How did I Let it get so far? Well, you ruined my life, You were never my friend, And now all I can hope is that I Never see You again…”

Valerie by Reel Big Fish
Here's mine:
I got to work hard everyday And give it my best Grab hold of fear and negativity And lay them to rest
I know my time here's important Can I do the right thing? Practice patience and forgiveness Feel the joy that they bring
Can I lay down tonight Without feeling regret? I know the love that I give Becomes the love that I get
Well do you hear what I'm saying Making sense to you? Well if you feel it in your heart Then you might want to sing too

I'm not much of a participant in this thread, as my musical knowledge (while vast) is pretty much limited to the 80s and earlier. But... I'm glad to see that the thread has energized a few of our formerly quiet members. Like Val and Janet. Rock on, ladies!.......Jake

'For My Lady' by MOODY BLUES ( a little before my time...) this should be pretty easy: It's a sad sad story That a mother will teach her daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger. And how in the world Can the words that I said Send somebody so over the edge That they'd write me a letter Saying that I better shut up and sing Or my life will be over Fran
