Everything but 6 and 7. I have driven past Disneyland on several occasions but have never been in the park.
I hope to have both of them scratched off my list in the next 12 months.
Two that are not on the Top Ten list but stand the test of time for me as living up to their advance billing are the Grand Canyon and Augusta National. They both left me speechless.

All but 1, 7, 8, I did research Niagara Falls (Canada's side) a few years back, but never made it there. 99.9 % sure I'll be in San Francisco come September.
Too many to count.
9 is a very nice romantic laid back get-away. If youse and the love of your life ever go, stay on the NC side.

On the other hand, I have only been to 3, 5 and 8 (the latter on a family trip as a kid). I have very little interest in visiting crowded urban places. I regard number 9 as a crowded urban environment.

I have very little interest in visiting crowded urban places. I regard number 9 as a crowded urban environment. That's why the NC side is the way to go. You are away from the carnival atmosphere of Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg.

I'm surprised that some of the most wonderful spots in the USA aren't listed: Charleston, SC New Orleans, LA Key West, FL I'd have thought they'd be way up there.

I've been to 2,3, & 9. I have a Time Share in Gatlinburg which backs up to the National Park. It's very quite, I love going there.
Why isn't Nigril on the list? There's a lot of Jamaicans hangin around there but thats no reason to keep Nigril off the list.

Obviously, I've been to 1 many times (hell, I work just a few blocks away from the area); I've been to 2 (only once, on a business trip a couple of years ago; hope to return someday); 4 (again, a business trip; went for MacWorld over 15 years ago); 5 (once -- Senior Year High School class trip); 6 (once -- Mom dragged me there when I was 12); 7 (about 3 or 4 times, none of them recently, unfortunately) and 10 exactly once.

I agree, I have been to New Orleans twice (once on fat tuesday) and enjoyed both trips a lot. I have never been to Key West, but after reading about fantasy week here it is on my must do list. I have never been to Charleston (other than stopping over in route to Myrtle Beach) which makes me think Myrtle Beach is a most wonderful spot.

I'm surprised that some of the most wonderful spots in the USA aren't listed: Charleston, SC New Orleans, LA Key West, FL I'd have thought they'd be way up there. I think that the difference is that the list Jake presents is very specific in location, Times Square versus say Rockefeller Plaza. whereas youve got entire cities. Taken as a whole, New Orleans might make that list, but say Bourbon St might not.

I'm surprised that some of the most wonderful spots in the USA aren't listed: Charleston, SC New Orleans, LA Key West, FL I'd have thought they'd be way up there. Well, because they're not. This list shows specific numbers of visitors, not their rating as to 'wonderfullness'. I don't think Key West could even fit the number of people who are in Times Square on any given day. Also, I think, each of those places are wonderful to a specific demographic, where those on the list appeal to a much wider demographic, i.e. larger numbers.

I almost made it to #8 once. Walked across the Rainbow Bridge from Canada. When I got to customs on the US side I realized my ID was left in the hotel room. I was soooo close.

I've been to all except the Disney's. I did see Epcot Center in FL during a Mortgage Bankers Convention when a cocktail reception was held there.
I get sick on rides and I don't have kids, so I have really not had any desire to go there.

Actually, getting sick on the rides is half the fun -- especially if you're sitting next to a kid.

6 of 10...I have not been to Chicago (except the airports), Boston, or strange enough Disney World (which I drove by for umpteenth time 2 weeks ago...I also have plans on never going there if I can help it!) I have been to D.C. but just driving though. I do hope to rectify not visiting the mall and the Smithsonian this year...and a few other places!

For example, one of my top three choices for wonderfullness would be eating in a cliff side restaurant standing atop Mount Washington in Pittsburgh, looking at the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers flowing together to create the mighty Ohio, knowing in two hours I'll be at PNC Park watching the Cubbies. Ya Mon!!!!

I've been to all except Times Square (actually not even to NYC), Niagara Falls, and the Navy Pier in Chicago. I agree with Chris about New Orleans and Key West. My impressions of Charleston were soured by the time I got re-outfitted when I went back in the Navy. Admittedly the part of Charleston I saw was not at all representative of the city and area. Whether it is San Francisco, Honolulu, Olongopo (PI), or Tijuana, the parts frequented by sailors tend to become a lot alike. Good point, DT - about the criteria of number of visits versus what makes a wonderful place.
