The trees will be fine.. I make no claims to the condition of that speaker if the early morning clean up crew crank it too loud.

Well, it looks like there will be no Hedo for me this year after all. Den and our friends want to try someplace else, 5 trips in 3 years seems to have jaded them to the charms of Hedo! We can get really cheap deals in either Cuba or the Dominican right now and Den wants to go somewhere with a nicer beach (Cuba's beaches are spectacular). So, I will miss meeting Joe and Colleen and all the other WWW gang. Bummer, I'm not even that excited about the trip anymore Jo

Jo, Varadero is a beautiful beach but I really love Habana Vieja (Old Havana). I have stayed at the Inglaterra, the Deauville, Ambos Mundos, and aboard a boat at the Marina Hemingway. All were enjoyable. My brother-in-law stays at the Nacional, which is nice but I am too cheap. My wife has never been there and I would like to take her there. Have a good time.

Jo, if it's any consolation I won't be at Hedo either in December.
Simon (who suspects that some may find this a good enough reason to want to go themselves)

This is disappointing news Jo, you and Den will be missed, but we will carry on the debauchery as best as possible without you.

Jo, So sorry to hear but I understand the Dominican Republic is very beautiful too with nice beaches. Where ever you go - let us know how you like it...I'm always on the lookout for a new place to try out. Randy and I were looking at the DR a few years ago as a possibility. Also, Randy is always intrigued with the look of the land as we pass over Cuba to get to Jamaica everytime we go. He says the land looks different than he's seen elsewhere (and he may have a point too). We'll miss you - I was really looking forward to meeting you and Simon, you know I'm looking forward to the time out paths finally cross too - whether at Hedo or elsewhere. Tex, I guess we're going to maybe just miss you - when do you depart? We get to Hedo on the 4th. Will be in Jamaica on the 2nd though. Gordon and Joe, we'll see ya on the beach! It's not long now!! A little over a month!! Woo hoo!!!! ;D Colleen

Tex, I guess we're going to maybe just miss you - when do you depart? We leave on the 30th. I am sorry that we miss each other - another trip perhaps. Chris and Anita will be there at the same time with us, but we will miss you and Gordon and a number of others. Gordon always seems to clear out just before we show up.

Well, damnit, we are going to the Dominican from Dec 3-10 (can you tell I'm thrilled!) Only good thing is the price, $1670, taxes in, for BOTH of us to fly and stay a week, all inclusive. Couldn't pass it up, and Den really wanted to try somewhere new and so did our friends. We are staying at the Blue Bay Villas Doradas in Puerto Plata (at least it's adults only), it's got good reviews on Trip Advisor and we also know friends of ours who now live down there, so we'll get to visit them as well. I'm sure we'll have fun, I was just so stoked about Hedo again and meeting some of you guys.........oh well, maybe next time. I'll let you know how our trip was once we get back. Have fun, all you ! Jo

Speaking of TripAdvisor, I submitted a couple of reviews for them and they sent me a hat with their logo. The hotels really do care how they are portrayed on TA. I wear the hat at check in. I think it helps.
