Next time it starts to bare some jalapeno's hang a small bar of soap in the plant. That will keep the deer away. There is also a product called Deer Off you can buy it at you local hardware store and spray it on the plant. Either way works.
Last but not least shoot the deer that ate it stuff him with jalapeno's.

You need to try chicken fried backstrap. I am not sure what part of the deer it is from, but it is similar to beef tenderloin. That is my favorite venison dish next to a simple roast. The ground venison tastes just like hamburger to me, so when I throw it in chilli I can't taste the difference other than it being much leaner ground beef. Although that might mean that I have been hanging out with my redneck friends too long!
