I am flying into Lawton over 4th of July weekend and just found out the guy I was going to visit may be out of town that weekend. So rather than waste the ticket I decided to go ahead and go anyway.
Has anyone lived in or visited the area? Is there anything fun to do there besides visit the indian casino?

Never been there and, with Allah's help, I never will. However, their Web Site does seem to indicate various things like museums and a wildlife refuge (although how wild the life in Lawton could be, I'm a little skeptical). Click on Enjoy Lawton for a menu of various items.

lol So does that mean I should only get one ticket to the Lynyrd Skynyrd, Randy Rogers, Bobby Dale Concert followed by fireworks on the 4th?
The Wildlife Refuge is probably Ladies Night at the local bar.

No, it means you should exchange your airline ticket to Lawton for one to Las Vegas.

Unfortunately there is a $150 ch-ch-change fee on my $215 ticket... maybe I should just cancel and reschedule for a later weekend... getting laid repeatedly in any city sure beats a weekend hanging out by the pool at the Quality Inn in Lawton.

... getting laid repeatedly in any city sure beats a weekend hanging out by the pool at the Quality Inn in Lawton. Although you probably have just as great a likelihood of catching a communicable disease either way.

Unless you have a good reason to go, I would stick around San Antonio or Austin. You live in a really fun city - there is plenty to do around San Anton. JHMO

The moral is: Don't get fat on stale doughnuts or get a disease from someone you really didn't want to sleep with.

Spend the money and ch-ch-change the ticket... you would just blow the $150 in Lawton anyways.

I agree -- go to Vegas! (BTW, did I also mention *I'm* home that weekend?)
