Examine the pineapple for the obvious, good size and shape.
Make sure the eyes on the side of the pineapple are well developed and protrude.
Try to pluck out one of the innermost leaves. If the pineapple is ripe, it will come out easily.

Smell the pineapple...if it has a nice aroma and is yellow not green, it's ripe.
