Just curious...I tried to use a a spoiler but cannot get it to work. I am using Mozilla FireFox, could this be the reason? Or could it be the "new and improved" Proboards format? Thanks, for any answers that anyone might come up with.

They're not working for me either. If I had to guess, I'd say that the special spoiler patch I added needs to be updated for the new version of the software. But I don't have time to track it down at the moment. Maybe this weekend......Jake

I just noticed that if you use the view 25 most recent post feature and the most recent post happens to contain a Spoiler, it does work properly. When the post initially pops up you can see the coding text with the spoiler message for a couple of seconds before the screen image resets with the actual Spoiler Box

It's working now because I updated the spoiler code. It works pretty much the same as it always did, only better.....Jake

One issue ProBoards should address with respect to the Spoilers feature is that you can see the contents of the Spoiler without clicking the Spoiler button:
If you do a Reply in a thread that contains a Spoiler (assuming you use the full Reply Editor, rather than the Quick Reply box at the bottom of the screen), you will be able to see the contents of the Spoiler between the Spoiler tags.
Try doing a Reply in this thread and you'll see what I mean -- the contents of the Spoiler in Edie's post is completely visible (better cover up there, Edie, your Spoiler is showing!).

As some of you may have noticed, you can ch-ch-change the default "SPOILER - click to reveal" text to something else if you want, much like putting a text label on a web link.
What you may not know is that I can ch-ch-change the "default" default to something else. Does anyone have any suggestions of an appropriate default spoiler label?
Edited to add: There, I just did! But suggestions are still being accepted.

Does anyone have any suggestions of an appropriate default spoiler label? No, but if you need any help coming up with any inappropriate labels, please have your girl call my girl and we'll do lunch.

Looks like your override is only backwards compatible Jake

Looks like your override is only backwards compatible Jake I can't figure out what you mean by that. It has affected past posts.

Never mind, I was looking at some posts that I thought I had modified, but they actually were in default mode... carry on.

One thing I noticed that may be more related to the recent ProBoards software upgrade rather than anything to do with Spoilers is the fact that quotes in "old" posts (a year ago or more, but maybe it's anything pre-upgrade) seem to be somewhat broken; quotes in posts that used to be Identified Quotes (where the date & time stamp, followed by the display name of the person you're quoting, appear above the quote itself) now appear as Anonymous Quotes (where the contents of the quote remains, but the date/time stamp is lost, as is the display name of the person you're quoting).
