OK, this is really weird, and I am looking for possible explainations.
Yesterday (Monday) I was unable to access ANY Proboard site. I attempted to get access on three computers, each using 3 different browsers, and a variety of proboard web addresses, including proboards.com . I even rebooted to see if some internal factor was blocking access.
Every attempt resulted in a white page, with an indication that the download was "done". I thought that perhaps the entire site was down (I had full access to all other websites I tried, only proboard sites were affected).
This morning, with no action on my part, I have full access to all Proboard sites, and I see that others were on here posting.
Anybody have any ideas?

Sounds like an "internal" error, Gordon. I got on this board without any problem. Did you ISP hiccup yesterday? It does sound weird . . .

I dont know Bob, but EVERY other website I tried came through without a hitch, it was ONLY websites with proboard in the name, and it was on three separate computers. The only thing that seems plausible is that my ISP was filtering proboards for some reason... maybe Homeland Security has made a link between me and proboards

Bob's explanation makes sense to me -- your ISP could've had a problem with its router, which eventually got resolved.

Its agreed then, Homeland Security.

If a site ch-ch-changes their physical address, it sometimes takes a day or two for every ISP to update their name server to the new physical address. I'm not aware that Proboards did this, but who knows?
At least you got to have a productive day for a ch-ch-change!.......Jake

Are you kidding, I was going through withdrawal and was constantly pinging to see if I had access, got shit done
Editted: Meanwhile Im thinking, my god, Jake and the entire board moved and didnt tell me... paranoia strikes deep, into your heart it will creep...

Nah, we'd never do that to you. Too much loss of entertainment value.
Are you sure it wasn't a St. Patrick's related incident?

Maybe ProBoards were recalibrating the squabulator, hence the downtime.

No, we use local squabulation here, Simon. Too much phase lag when you have to wait for the remote server to turn around the squab packets.

People are always too quick to blame the squabulator. Has it occurred to anyone that this failure might be traced back to the petcock?

Gordon got into the St. Patty's Day celebration with to many Long Island Tea's. That translates into operator error. ;D

has anyone checked the microfleem? OMFG! Don't you remember the entire re-calibration of its azimuth to true north back in the summer of 2005?

I may have a solution here, thanks to the mysterious Client 10 from Outer Space and Steve. I must not have corrected for the Leap Second in 2005, when I did the XP downgrade a few weeks back. The Long Island Tea factor fuzzed that out of my calculations and resulted in a phase variance of the microfleem, which when misaligned introduce too much subspace interference, blocking my proboard signals

Thank Allah you found it, Gordon!
I knew it couldn't have been a St. Patty's incident as I seem to remember that you are Scottish. So you would most likely wait until St. Andrew's Day and drink a pint of plaid beer.
