Not withstanding the fact that sometimes the rest of us might want to keep our news to ourselves and not have to share it Simon

Hell Jake, down here in the sticks we are lucky to get "Jimmy Joe Bob's News". I am sure you other flatlanders know the paper, the one that tells you "Mrs. Smith's mom and dad visited from Ohio"

The New York Times calls me occasionally here in Texas wanting me to subscribe. I used to enjoy reading their paper, in spite of its editorial slant, until they started fucking with the facts. Same with the BBC World Service...I have an old Zenith Transoceanic with a huge aerial that pulls in the BBC here in Texas like it was next door. Their five minute news at the top of the hour was an excellent brief summary of what was going on in the world, until they too started fucking with the facts.

Tex If you ever feel the urge to give the BBC World Service a second try you can catch their internet feed here... www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/They seem to be very consiously trying to recoup their status from their previous judgement errors in broadcasting quality (unlike it would appear, the NYT who seems to be more arrogant than ever, in terms of self-policing their reporters)
