OK Canada, youse guys need to put a squash on this move. Me thinks, if the NFL moves in, the CFL will meet its demise. psssst.... Then again, could it be a match made in heaven? "During the 1970s, with separation forces gaining strength, the CFL was viewed as a unifying force for the bilingual country and when the World Football League attempted to set up shop in Toronto in 1974 the Liberal government stepped forward with legislation to block the move." "The CFL, however, cannot count on government intervention again, leaving its survival hinging on negotiations." www.reuters.com/article/sportsNews/idUSL1020545220080213

Gord, Den is a HUGE Red Wings fan (comes from growing up in Windsor, right across the river). It might get very interesting in this house come playoff time. As for my Habs, they are now tied with Ottawa for 1st place in the East. They haven't won a Stanley Cup since 93, they are WAY overdue!
Jo (we were at the last game that Patrick Roy played for Montreal, against the Red Wings. We had great seats, mid ice, right behind the plexiglass. Every time that Detroit scored ~ so many times, sob, sob ~ Den would stand up and bang on the plexiglass. After 5-6 times, these 2 old ladies who were sitting next to us, they must have been in their late 60s, early 70s, one of them turned to Den and said in French "I guess you are not from Montreal, are you?" Den replied that he was from Cornwall and she said, in a voice you don't expect to hear from a sweet little ole lady "Yeah, well, why don't you get back on the bus and go back to Cornwall!!" Final score was 11-1 and the next day Montreal lost one of the greatest goalies the game has ever seen......I still have my ticket stubs.)

The winter nights in Montreal have been long and cold for forever in this regard it would seem. Actually I enjoy seeing their reemergence, much like the good old days of the 6 team league. I doubt that the Senators being nearby have given you anything to cheer about, but have faith, and enjoy the good times

I doubt that the Senators being nearby have given you anything to cheer about, but have faith, and enjoy the good times I played a lot of hockey, in my younger years. I have been to one professional hockey game (Black Hawks) and enjoyed the hell out of it. Why, I never got into hockey, is beyond me?
