Yes, you can post pictures in a thread, and they are welcome, but they must already be hosted on the internet somewhere. Just click on the "image" icon in the "reply" dialogue (it's the fourth one on the second row, and looks like a picture in a frame) and insert the URL of the picture.
Regarding avatars, I would not want to see animated avatars get too intrusive or annoying. As much as I hate implementing "rules" on this board, if I can find a way to block animated avatars, be assured that I will, with extreme prejudice!......Jake

Sounds like it's time for a new entry in the FAQ thread.

Sabrina - I use www.imageshack.us/ to host. Create a file to download avatars/ you like into a folder then put into a .zip and upload via their directions. If you want, give me a buzz. We can catch up on things too!

Wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning guy? Joe. No, they just can get too annoying. Pop over to Cyberhedo if you want to see what I mean. Subtle animation I don't mind, but not that flashing obnoxious annoying shit!......Jake

And they called me paranoid when I first set forth that theory. Guess I showed them. (BTW, animated avatars isn't the only thing at CyberHedo that's obnoxious, if you know what I mean)

why does my avatar keep disappearing till I refresh it? L, I can always see your avatar. The only one I can almost NEVER see is Harrybutt's. It's usually just a big red X, which is OK by me, 'cuz that hairy back dude with the big heart shaved in his hair looks like a big bear.
