I was sailing in Galveston Bay and the Gulf this past weekend and it was a disturbed sea due to a low. I get my sea legs pretty quickly but it takes a good 24 hours to lose them once back on shore. If I were in the shower and closed my eyes, I would have to hold the walls. The main halyard parted and fell into the mast (first time I have ever seen such) but there was enough wind to make hull speed on the jib alone. This was a chartered 41 foot Hunter and was a decent boat but I suppose it time for new halyards. A rigger will earn his money running the new halyard through the mast w/o the old halyard to pull it through.
