UPDATED OPERATING PLAN for Air Jamaica - APRIL 1, 2008
Daily Non-Stops for Orlando, plus chanes to New York, BWI, Chicago, and LA
In order to move forward toward profitability, Air Jamaica has taken the
decision to make the following ch-ch-changes to the operating plan effective
April 1, 2008. Additional adjustments and ch-ch-changes will be incorporated
in the coming summer and fall schedules as required. The highlights of
the ch-ch-changes are shown below. Please ensure that all concerned in your
organization are aware of these ch-ch-changes. For those passengers that are
already ticketed they will be protected on other Air Jamaica services
where possible, or on another carrier if an Air Jamaica flight is not
available. This will be advised as soon as possible.
* The suspension of service to both Bonaire and Newark were
previously announced and are effective March 9, 2008.
* From April 1, 2008 going forward, all service to/from St. Lucia
will be suspended.
* New York (JFK) service to Jamaica will have one MBJ and one KIN
flight in the morning and one MBJ and one KIN flight in the afternoon
making it four (4) flights per day.
* Baltimore will serve MBJ non-stop five (5) days per week and two
days per week we will operate non-stop to Kingston.
* Chicago will continue to operate daily through the end of April
and then reduce to five (5) days per week for the period May 1 - October
31, 2008 and then revert to daily for the next winter season. This
route will also be adjusted to arrive at 8:48pm and depart at
9:00am.This flight no longer connects to the EC.
* Los Angeles will move to six (6) per week and stay at that level
for the rest of the year. Thursday will be the one day we do not
operate this route.
* Orlando moves to daily.
* Nassau will now operate non-stop to/from Kingston on all
flights.
* Grand Cayman will have two morning head starts (Friday and
Sunday) and two mid-afternoon flights per week (Monday and Thursday).
* The Eastern Caribbean will have a daily New York - Barbados -
Kingston flight in both directions. Additionally, we will operate three
days per week New York - Grenada - Kingston and an alternate three days
in reverse. From New York the flights will operate on Monday, Thursday
and Saturday and to New York on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. Wednesday we
will operate JFK-GND-JFK making the plan eleven (11) flights per week
from New York to the EC and ten (10) flights per week between Kingston
and the EC.
Please note that we are no longer serving the Eastern Caribbean from
Montego Bay and with the elimination of St Lucia service all together
connections to Barbados and Grenada are now via Kingston when available.
