I don't know how many of you saw it on DennyP's but in February 2006, American will start flying non-stop from Dallas-Fort Worth to Montego Bay, Jamaica. This was long in coming. The charter flight from Dallas has done pretty well but American has always routed us through Miami before which was a PITA. BTW, Continental has picked up the flight that Air Jamaica dropped from Houston to Montego Bay.

Glad to see that someone actually appreciated my posting that info. ;D
I was rather excited about the news, and it gets you into MBJ earlier than the CO IAH flight. The arrival time is about the same as connecting through MIA flying same day, but avoids the hassle of that screwed up airport.
Last time I was booked DEN-MIA-MBJ, AA re-timed the flight from DEN to leave 40 min later and the MIA connection was shot (with about a 23 min connection - impossible). I wasn't about to sit in that hell-hole of an airport for nearly six hours till the next flight, so I re-booked out of my local airport (via DFW) and had a next-day connection with an overnight in MIA. Needless to say, I was well rested arriving in Jamaica.
Getting back to the point, I've tried to post new flights on DaddyP's in the past as useful information for people that might want to know what options exist. However, I posted that with trepidation because previously, when I've tried to ba a nice guy and pass along the info, it seemed like people would say crap like "Last time we flew them...I'll never fly them again" or "It gets in too late in the day for us", etc, etc...
My intent has been merely to inform, not solicit opinions. I couldn't give a rats a$$ whether it works for you personally, but others might be happy to know that flights might be available at a gateway closer to their home town.
More flights=more options, and probably lower $$ to get back to Jamaica.
Ok, getting off my soapbox. ;D

We were happy to get the information. We live a couple of hours from Dallas and even though it is a much larger airport than Houston, we find it easier to get into and out of. American, having its headquarters in Dallas, is the 800 pound gorilla at DFW. We have found their service to be satisfactory. We travel to NY LaGuardia and Philly frequently and they have so many flights that it is like taking the bus. Thanks for the info.
