We have a interesting event taking place near hear.
A women has open a vintage clothing store which carries old fur jackets, coats, whatever. The store open in the first part of December and was doing fairly well.
When the animal activist first heard of it, they protested in front of her store to no avail since the local paper made and issue of it and more people supported her business, her sales increased.
Since protesting at her place business hasn't worked, the animal activist have now taken to painting rude remarks on the store front window and doors at night, calling here business constantly and threating her, parking in front of her store and harassing costumers as the enter or leave the store, calling her at home in the middle of the night and threating her.
She has her phone line tapped by they are calling from pay phones.
The activist say that they have a right to do all of this and are going to continue until she closes her doors.
When do the protester cross the line. You can picket peacefully, but anything else is over the line as far as I am concerned. What say you?
Modified to add: The local police are not doing much about it becasue they say that the protesters really don't mean any harm. What gives?
Joe.

I say peace picketing is the only protest available in this case, and most others too. Once you cross the line into destroying property, personal threats, etc. your ass needs to be thrown in jail.

Once you cross the line into destroying property, personal threats, etc. your ass needs to be thrown in jail. I agree.
Unfortunately those nut-cases realize that peaceful protest will not net them the results they're after. In their warped minds they think that their cause is just and that they are exempt from breaking a few man-made laws because the fur manufacturer or the fur vendor is breaking a much higher law ... the "natural" law. Oh, brother!
It doesn't matter to them that they are themselves breaking ACTUAL WRITTEN LAWS ... they just don't get it. While they do have a right to protest they do NOT have a right to cause physical harm/damage. If you do the crime you'd better be prepared to do the time.
As for the police in this case I say they're just chicken-shits. They should do their damn job and arrest as many of those vandals as they can catch. Sheesh! What the hell are they afraid of???
