Hello to all from Snowmass!! We into our second day of skiing and all is well. The trip out was essentially without incident with only minor delays. The flight from Denver to Aspen was delayed about an hour due to weather in Aspen. Additionally, the flight attendant made several of us move forward as there was too much weight in the back of the plane.
Not good!! Planes don’t fly well with the weight too far back. Luckily, we took off without a problem.
This has been a record year for snow. I heard something about the most they have had in 50 years. I can say that there is more snow here than I have ever seen. We got about another 8 to 10 inches last night and another storm is expected tonight.
This is the first time Rhonda and I have been skiing together. She doesn’t like the cold and it was only with a trip with some girl friends last year that she discovered that she can, indeed, ski! I’ve gotten her onto some intermediate slopes and who knows, maybe the black diamonds are not too far away!
Today, I really got my skiing legs back and that is both good and bad. Good that it’s nice to feel it all coming together again. The bad thing is, “Hey, I feel like I’m 18 years old again! Let’s tackle the moguls on those black diamonds!”
Not good. I keep telling myself, “I’m not 18. I’m not 18 . . . “
It’s a good thing Rhonda is along. She is my governor so hopefully I’ll remember how old I am and not try stupid stunts again.
I must get a lap top with a card reader in it so I can post some pictures. Stupid of me.
More later when the snow allows . . .
………….Bob

We had steady snow in December but not much since then. This past week we had about 8 inches and I had to use the snowblower for the first time in 2 years. Prior to that I used "son and daughter power."
I made them a deal. I said to them if you shovel the driveway I'll pay for college.

Gord, I don't know what our official count is, but whatever it is, it is just too fucking much!!!! We have snowbanks all over the city which are hazardous for anyone pulling out of driveways because you can't see if cars are coming until you are halfway in the street. I haven't seen snow like this since the 60s and early 70s growing up in Montreal. And joy, they are announcing another 25-30 centimetres tonight. It seems like we have had one major snow storm after another since November and it just keeps on coming. Can you tell I'm bitter..............................JO

LMAO
I feel your joy. Ya wanna, make a snowman!!!!
I couldn't, but, it does appear, that if you ever see snow again, it would be too soon.

The guys on the weather channel always promise 8-10 inches and the women on the weather channel inevitably say it's most likely a brief storm with 3-4 inches at best.

I'll be much better after a few glasses of wine tonight, everyone. Sorry for the outburst!! Jo Ok, here's the key to getting rid of them *low down, cold, snow, blues. Have your favorite drink (or bud) and listen to this three times at high volume.

Thanks DT.
One of life's great mysteries to me is how many people (willingly) go on Alaskan cruises!! A cruise to see snow and glaciers.............have these people gone mad??? I know fools who have been on these things and they just rave about the scenery and the beauty............I'd rather see the Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup than go anywhere north on a vacation (I can safely say that since there is no way in hell either will happen!!!!!)

It would be worth it if you at least had bananas ...
Assuming it's OK to wear one's thong in the dining room ...

This is the coldest winter here probably since 1983. That winter broke all kinds of records. I saw a VW Beetle drive on the ice on the lake in '83. No one had ever seen that here before or has seen it since.
