OK, I am going to bite the bullet and finally visit New York City this summer. We need to plan a trip to pay homage to both Yankee Stadium and Shea before they disappear. My son and I try to hit different ballparks each summer. Wrigley is on the agenda for next year.
So, from a logistics stand point I need suggestions for where to stay in New York to keep it as simple as possible going to and from both stadiums.....if that is not a laughable thought. And if the baseball schedules permit and the stars are in alignment we may even try the trifecta and see if we can catch the train up to Boston and hit Fenway too. If not that can wait for another time.
All those Seinfeld subway episodes keep racing through my mind as I begin to contemplate this excursion.

I would recommend staying on the East Side of Manhattan. The #4 train uptown (to Da Bronx) is easily accessible there and also, you can get to Grand Central Station reasonably quickly from the East Side -- the #7 train at Grand Central will take you directly to Shea.

For the last five seasons, I have made it to Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, St Louis, at least once every season. I aways stay for the series they are playing (2,3,4 games)
For the last two seasons, I have had plans to go to Yankee and Shea stadiums. Well, the first trip didn't pan out, cause I opted to stay longer in Atlantic City, and last year my favorite Aunt, passed on to glory the day before I was going to leave.
pssst.....When the Cubs come to NY this season, iffin I can get the time off. I'll be NY bound. BTW, isn't this the last season for *The House That Ruth built*?
