I'm still trying to figure this one out.
We arrived Friday. I brought the kids up (dog and cat) and Rhonda joined me after work. By chance, she had to work at an imaging center not far from PL, so it worked out well.
The weather was great, very warm, in the 80s most each day.
PL now has a new owner. We've "known" him for a couple of years, just at PL, however.
I get there and take a stroll to the Lakeside pool planning a quick dip in the hot tub, only to find the pool and hot tub roped off. The pool is half empty. I check the message board and see a "letter" sent from the Condo Association to the new owner about bringing legal action if the owner doesn't recognize previous agreements between the old PL owner and the association.
FUCK!
"All I want to do, is have some fun . . "
We nevertheless enjoy the several days at PL and spend New Year's there. We had reservations in the restaurant at 9PM and I had a great meal with Sushimi Tuna and rare Filet Mignon. My meal was GREAT!
Rhonda had lobster, but noted right away, "the lobster don't taste right."
We danced the night away as there was a GREAT live band outside and we only went inside the disco once or twice. The crowd inside was huge, as usual, but outside it was very manageable.
We popped our corks at midnight and enjoyed the fun, including the almost 5 minute long (it seemed) fireworks outside Key West.
We hit the sack, and about 3 hours later Rhonda was up puking her guts out. She had VERY little to drink, and I'm sure she had food poisoning, probably from the lobster (I didn't have it). She spent several hours in the john, me thinkin' the last time this happened to her she decided to rupture a brain aneurysm, and I was hoping and praying "Not again! PLEASE!"
All turned out well, nevertheless, but I'm still wondering what John (the new owner) plans to do at PL. I've heard some folks saying, "Dang, we thought it was as bad as it could get before, now we just don't know!"
Fuck.
