So not to extend the thread in question I want to say that in my message from the widow, she stated that he did not commit suicide, that he would not do that because their 7 year old was at home at the time and they were not planning to divorce. True or not that is what she told me in a message. I deleted my posts in that thread in the event this is true.
I don't agree that she should not tell her 7 year old if he did in fact commit suicide but that is just me based on my experience. My mom didn't tell me about my dad and I found out at 12 when I ran across his death certificate. I was very angry because I had remembered being taunted in school about my dad being crazy and killing himself. Yes he was sick and could not live with his illness. My mom should have told be long before I was 12.
I suggest that you all use this thread to discuss the pro’s and con’s of deleting a thread and everyone go back and delete your posts on the thread in question so Jake will delete it.

I have deleted my posts.
Nola has left us but it goes without saying that he would consent to his posts being deleted along with the thread.
There are two guest posters who cannot delete their posts even if they do return to do so. As it has long been a TNMC tradition to treat anonymous guests with varying degrees of contempt I see no reason why they too can't be deleted along with the tread. I'm sure, given their support of the deceased, that it is what they would want anyway.
That just leaves Joe and Bob to delete their remaining posts.

You can stand on principal and I appreciate that but, it's only a message board and the majority spoke.
The end result will be only 2 or 3 steady posters. You might as well email each other your daily thoughts at that rate.
Is it worth it? This place was fun at one time.

I am very happy. My theories have been vindicated.
It's nice to know that the final death blow to this message board is the fact that people do NOT really believe in free speech. They do NOT want freedom of expression. They WANT censorship. They WANT offensive opinions to be squelched. They are too squeamish to go out on a limb with a thought that might make someone uncomfortable. (Doctor Bob being the notable - and in my opinion, honorable - exception. Yay, Bob!!)
So be it! People get what they want, which is as it should be.
I won't be a part of it, of course, nor will this message board. It will die an ignoble death from disuse by people who can no longer stand the cold light of uncensored reality. But I find it infinitely amusing that those who came here from DennyP's claiming to want freedom, yet are so quick to abandon those ideals when it gets the least bit uncomfortable or distasteful. Pussies.
Apparently my research here is done. See you on Facebook!

It was a good experiment Jake!! Seems folks want some form of censorship to keep them honest, or some such crap - I dunno. Seems to me it's like walking into a bar where anything goes. You have to be tough and most folks just wanna hang and take it easy.
This last issue with the swingers was odd, to say the least. Momma swinger wants the thread deleted to protect the kids, but I can't figure out what we are protecting them from, since mommy and daddy swinger are/were much more in the limelight than this message board.
For me the entire Hedo thing seems to have run its course. Denny's was hopping during the early 2000s, but now it's mostly dead. Folks are on Facebook and Twitter now and message boards are going the way of the Edsel.
Such is life. Move along now. Where to, I dunno . . . .
How's the dog?? Doing OK??

The puppy is great! Thanks for asking. He makes me and his mommy happy every day. And we never have to worry about his internet browsing.

The puppy is great! Thanks for asking. He makes me and his mommy happy every day. And we never have to worry about his internet browsing. Glad to hear it. Good that you don't have to worry whether your dog comes across a pussy on the interwebs and has a fight or something. Glad you have a good relationship with him. Keep up the good work! Some folks have problems in that area.
