How would we feel if an Israeli political party was having a debate as to whether "Washington DC is and will remain the capital of the United States"? Control freak alert!

You are right.. it was a pathetic cave in of the Dems leadership to feel the need to insert a clause about that and the word "God" in to the platform. It was the Republican Platform that mentioned the subject, the Dems had no word at all, why should it? Pathetic that they felt the need to have to address both subjects.

Secularism is one thing that set the Dems apart from the GOP and they have conceded that advantage -- that's what made them appear more inclusive rather than exclusive. Bad move.

Bad move by the Demos. That's was one of the reasons I vote for Obama last time because of the religiuos morons in the Republican party. The demos are no better.
