As a traveler I'd rather pay another $5 a day and keep the service. The bus was fun and that's where my vacation started.

I don't think it has to be free, but it should at least be organized. I'd gladly pay the extra just to make it there and back again (like a good Hobbit.) Notice I didn't use the word "safely", I only require the pretense of organization.

At the NYC airports, there are buses that pick you up at the airport and take you to midtown where most of the hotels are; they cost around $15. If you could buy a ticket for something similar at the SuperClubs desk at the airport and at the hotel's front desk upon checkout, that wouldn't be so bad.

Gettin about time to eliminate Hedo TOO I agree. Two bulldozers, one at each end and a fire in the middle. Start pushing and burning.

We wouldn't mind paying $15 or so a head to ride the bus. We actually like riding the bus.
After I quit riding a scooter around Jamaica but before I could afford to stay at a proper hotel, I would catch a minibus or "route Taxi" from Mobay to Negril. Reasonable and they didn't mind taking me right to Roots Bamboo, the cheap place where I camped or stayed in a cabin, depending on the trip.

I think this will probably be the last straw for us... compared to our first trip the cost (mostly because of airfare) has increased soooo damn much we just honestly can't afford it anymore. Now we are gonna have to pay another 100 bucks or so to get us back and forth from MoBay... it is time to look into someplace else.

I agree with Tex, I wouldn't mind paying $30.00 each round trip for the bus. When we went to Mexico a couple of years ago, the resort we stayed at offered round trip service to and from the airport for $35.00 per person. I didn't think it was bad since it was almost and hours ride, and the beer was only a $1.00 and you could buy them on the bus.

Back in the beginning of March, I booked my NYE trip through the same TA I've been using for the past 15 years (yes, I always book it that early).
I e - mailed her about this issue and she provided me with the following reply:

Apparently Superclubs is eliminating the free bus transfer to Hedo.... Was it really 'free'? Surely it was built into the cost of your vacation. So, going forwards, will Superclubs be deducting that lost part of your vacation from their prices? Personally I would rather they slid their prices up a little so that the price of the bus ride is lost in the total cost than have to pay extra for something that was once a 'free' service.

Well of course "free" is not completely accurate. "Included" would have been a better term. And a better policy, in my mind. I don't like to have to worry about a la carte services on an "all inclusive" (quoted for irony) vacation.

'Free' or 'included' at times like this you need to be seen to be giving your customers value for money. Taking away part of what the customers feel they have been paying for and reinventing it as a chargeable 'bolt on' is a fantastic way to alienate customers and lose them. Robin Hood is a great example and I'm sure there will be many more like him who feel the same way and decide that enough is enough.

Until our salaries catch up with airfares, I am afraid we won't be flying much at all... I looked into flights for a possible November trip... $750 each from Dallas... FUCK THAT!! I understand prices go up over time, but I think my flights year before last were at about $850 for BOTH of us.

Yes the airfare is always a wildcard and has put us off too at times but I wouldn't mind "paying" if you're "getting". We've had rooms that didn't have reliable basic plumbing. Most of the grounds inadequacies and quirks I accept as Jamaican charm and style, it's the overall experience with the people that drive the fun.

We paid $840 each for November from Chicago and don't even get a direct flight. OTOH, flying to Key West is over $400 each so I just try to keep it in perspective. Airfares are sky high these days.

When I booked mine back in early March, 1st class was $1200; the same flight now is $1500. A $300 increase in 3 months!

If we have to pay $1000 for airfare I highly doubt we would go. Looks like another vacation with a six-pack running under the sprinkler.

As well as your question is concerned then definitely the air traveling is the best and comfortable than a road trip. But if you are enjoying the company of friends the bus journey is preferred always because of its long distance becasue every one wants a maximum time for recreation and bus can provide you rather air plane. But you are just sharing a two way link my dear friend and there is nothing like your question in that link So boost up and come to the point please.
