I guess this means we can thank Jesus for killing all the dinosaurs in Saudi Arabia and leaving the oil to them. Could have planned THAT one a bit better.
A couple years ago I was at the Smithsonian in DC, there was a little video running showing the plate tectonics over the past billion years or so... a guy next to me watches it and say "What a bunch of crap. If they were drifting then, why arent they drifting now?" I tried to explain to him that the were and its been proven that North America and Europe are separating at a rate about the same as the growth of your finger nail or hair. He had no concept of the math required to have that make sense over geologic time.
I fear for future generations.
