For only the 3rd time in my life I had the need to leave a movie theater before the feature was finished. I should have stayed in the little cantina where we had dinner and continued to drink the night away.
They should have stopped at II. And to make it worse I paid extra to watch this steaming pile in 3D.

Thanks for taking the bullet so the rest of us didn't have to. Even from the ads, it looked, at best, unnecessary.
PS - what were the other two times?

Just came from a different movie, but MIB3 was also playing there -- long lines! It did well $-wise yesterday.

Thanks for taking the bullet so the rest of us didn't have to. Even from the ads, it looked, at best, unnecessary. PS - what were the other two times? Unnecessary is a good description. It was very slow in laying the ground work and then failed to deliver anything new. The first movie I ever walked out on was Monty Python and the Holy Grail. At the time I absolutely hated it. I have since come full circle and think it is hilarious. The other was Battlefield Earth. Cannot remember much about it other than that I bailed. I enjoy going to the movies so I have seen and sat through more than my share of bad movies. It is part of the movie going process. But these 3 sent me packing early.

Stunning on two levels (a) that your originally hated it and (b) that you eventually changed your mind. I have seen that movie minimally a half-dozen times over the years -- even bought a copy of the screenplay. It remains one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.

I was never fully comfortable with Holy Grail either. I thought the high-priced production values kind of clashed with the low-brow humor, leaving an incongruous taste in my mouth.
Then, years later, when I saw "Spamalot" on stage, with (mostly) the same jokes, but with cheesy sets and very low production values, all incongruities were gone, and it was suddenly hilarious!

I wasn't too taken by the first two MIB movies but from the trailers III looked good and I'd planned to see it. Oh well.

Isn't this Will Smith's only movie that he has done a sequel?

Warner Bros are going into production with the sequel to I Am Legend which, as Will Smith is killed at the end of the original, may require you to buy the DVD and watch the alternative ending :

Isn't this Will Smith's only movie that he has done a sequel? He did a sequel to "Bad Boys." Also, IMDb lists him in "Hancock 2" and "I, Robot 2" and "Bad Boys 3" - all categorized as "announced." No mention of an "I Am Legend" sequel.

Thanks, Simon. There is no mention of Will Smith at your link, which explains why there is no mention of the movie at Will Smith's page. Although someone on the IAL-2 page mentions that it is a prequel.

Watched MiB III last night on PPV. Not as bad as I thought it would be. Worse than the first, better than II. You do have to sit to the end to get the point of the movie. It closes the story circle and that is the point of the movie.
Acting was mediocre, directing predictable, special effects unnoteworthy. For $6 I felt I got my money's worth, if I had paid to see it in theater I would have felt cheated.

From just the few trailers I have seen I think the $6.00 was way to much. I am going to wait for the free showing on HBO.
