Hey, Android phone users!
Have any of you had this problem where your shortcuts disappear from ALL of your desktops (so that they are completely BLANK)?
This happened to me this afternoon; I Googled it and found it is a common problem for Android users that has been in existence for years (which suggests it will probably never get fixed).

Never happened to me. I've had all my shortcuts turn to a generic gear icon briefly, but then they all turn to the appropriate app-specific icon after a short wait.
Did you have to re-create all your shortcuts? Or did a reboot bring them back?

I tried rebooting several times, but with no luck; based on what I've read when I did my brief amount of research, some of the other users who have experienced this problem reported that it was fixed when they rebooted, but it was only temporary -- the issue arose again at some point later on.

I have found that if you do a battery pop that 90% of the time they will come back when the phone reboots.

Ok I'm sure I should probably know this but what is a battery pop?

Simon, taking the battery out if you get a lock up.
I only had this happen once, when I applied a skin from a third party. Otherwise, no

Believe me it wasn't easy. We had a whole team working on it for a month with a project manager who reported to a steering committee. We got there in the end though and I have to say that most people on this side of the pond are pretty pleased with the result.

I appreciate your team not falling back to rely on that old Cockney Rhyming Slang thingie.
