We are on the verge of the seventh anniversary of this monstrosity that Jake created. Congrats to all of us survivors who have made it this far. No sure if its due to a genetic predisposition to endure pain that so few of us remain. But one thing for certain is that, that seven year itch you are feeling is probably crabs.

It reminds me of Bill Murray's speech in "Stripes" about what it means to be American: "it means our ancestors were kicked out of every decent country in the world." Our brand of hijinx doesn't fly on any decent message boards, so we find ourselves stuck here.
PS - the official anniversary basis is Jan 7, 2005, 8:36pm, the moment that I created the board. Not that I remember that, but it's in my profile.

Wow, so here we are; the few thick skinned ones. Only the strong survive.
I'm about to get rid of 6 loans I'm taking to loan committee next week that have been taking way too much of my time. Then we must talk about more world events. I'm jonesing for more debate.

I miss the early days of the wild wild west around here before I was even a member. I was always extremely impressed about how fast someone would get their panties in a wad over what seemed to me to be the most innocuous comment from another poster.
We should reach out to those who have moved on and offer them a laurel and hearty handshake.

We have had some award winning "waddies" over the years... guest appearances, recurring roles, supporting roles leading men and women, and of course Louie.

This could have been called "waddies cental" for a while back in the early years.

An over-reaction to the censorship imposed on dennyp, no doubt. Folks had a lot of stuff backed-up over the years that they needed to get out of their system.

I recently joined an antique automotive board and the same behavior from (mostly) our early days exists over there. It isn't pretty so I sit back and just watch guys slam each other over typos, vintage master cylinders, antique car knowledge and even having jehovah witnesses in their family. The moderators work like full time referees.
