Well, boys and girls, it's the most wonderful time of the year again: Dead Pool Time! As the 2011 TNMC Dead Pool Contest races towards its inevitable, exciting conclusion, we must once again leap in with both feet to the all-new, all-exciting 2012 Extravaganza! The rules are the same as last year: Compile your list of the ten celebs you most expect to croak in the upcoming calendar year. Whoever gets the most stiffs by the end of the year, wins. What do you win, you ask? Why, you win the everlasting respect and admiration of your fellow board members. In other words, not a fucking thing. Playing in the game is simplicity itself: Just post your list of your favorite ten coffin-candidates on this very thread. Feel free to edit it up until midnight on December 31 if you get new evidence or better hunches. After that time, I'll lock the thread so that nobody can accuse you of tampering with it after the deadline. Also: be sure to sequence your list so your surest stiffs are at the top. Our tie-breaker scheme is to assign points based on positions in the list. That is, a stiff at the top of your list gets you 10 points, second on the list gets you 9 points, and bottom of the list gets you one point. But this is ONLY used to break ties. More stiffs always beats fewer stiffs. We can have a separate thread for discussing progress throughout 2012 as we have done in the past. If Gordon continues his excellent tradition, he can kick it off with his patented Master Compilation (tm) thread. Good luck to everyone. Morituri te salutant!!........Jake

Think I am going to stick with the same group as last year except I am taking off Betty White and putting Kirk Douglas in her place.
Abe Vigoda (he's got to kick off sooner or later) Bryant Gumbel Fidel Castro Lauren Bacall Nancy Reagan Jerry Lewis Mickey Rooney George H.W. Bush Kirk Douglas Micheal Douglas

Putting Kirk Douglas in Betty White's place might make "Hot in Cleveland" and interesting TV show.

I'm starting my 2012 list with Ronnie and Robin, with the 'Big Gs' Gabor and Graham at numbers 3 and 4 respectively. Maggie has been coffin dodging for a few years now so she's sitting at number 5, and a few likely candidates making up the other five places :
1) Ronnie Biggs 2) Robin Gibb 3) Zsa Zsa Gabor 4) Billy Graham 5) Margaret Thatcher 6) Etta James 7) Lauren Bacall 8) Kirk Douglas 9) Nelson Mandela 10) Jack Klugman
I'm hoping for big things this year.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Gordon, don't include this list in your compilation. He replaced it with an updated one further down the thread. Everyone else: You don't need to add a new post if you are updating your list; you can just edit your original one (up to midnight on New Year's Eve, that is)......Jake

A couple of ch-ch-changes. Maggie and Bacall are out, replaced by Prince Philip and new entrant to this here annual competition, George Michael :
1) Ronnie Biggs 2) Robin Gibb 3) Zsa Zsa Gabor 4) Billy Graham 5) Prince Philip 6) Etta James 7) George Michael 8) Kirk Douglas 9) Nelson Mandela 10) Jack Klugman
I'm hoping the British contingent of Phil the Greek, The Great Train Robber and Georgios Kyriacos Panagiotou will do me proud - including of course the Gibb boy who was born in a British Crown Dependency, the Isle of Man.
Read 'em and weep, boys!

NOLA, if you get as many in 12 as you did in 11, the cops will start suspecting you of helping some of these folks along. I am an Etta James fan and wish her a smooth trip but she will stay on the list unless she jumps the gun.
