We just got home from the Giants game and they showed the last pitch of your game on the gumbotron. Congrats to the Mets. Beep they are only 1 game out of first.

By September, they'll have clinched last place.

I am watching them play the Cardinals right now. 6-0 they look good.

I haven't had a chance to post this until know.
SAN FRANCISCO GIANT MATT CAIN THROWS A PERFECT GAME 6/13/2012.
Denice and I watch every Giants game. When the 5th inning was over I told Denice that Matt has a perfect game going and tonight is his night.
The first one in Giants Franchise history and the 22nd in MLB history.

They've had some no-hitters, though -- one of them against the Mets. I think it was '75. Was Dave Dravecki (sp?) the pitcher?

Jonathan Sanchez threw a no hitter in 2009 against the Padres.
Dravecki did not throw a no-no. John Montefusco in 1976. Ed Halicki in 1975.Gaylord Perry in 1968, and Juan Marichal in 1963.

Halicki! That's the one I was thinking of -- got the names confused. Thanks!

Dravecki is the one that had the shoulder removed due to cancer.

I seem to recall seeing him try to pitch in a game and the act of throwing the ball broke his arm -- at least I *think* that was him.

Looks like its bottom of the 9th, 2 outs and 2 strikes on Manny's career... maybe just one more shot of juice will do it.

I didn't even realize that he was still playing.

When I first seen that I couldn't imagine the pain he was in. He is still active in some of the Giants functions. Every know and then we see him on TV at one of the games.

R.A. Dickey: 2 consecutive CG, 2 consecutive shutouts, 2 consecutive 1-hitters. He's 37, he's 11-1 and he'll be the NL's starter for this year's All-Star Game (barring something horrific).

Yeah they have played some good ball the past two weeks. 1 up on LA, but the D'Backs are starting to play good ball also.

What do you think of the Allstar selections? Pablo Sandoval Starting at 3rd for th NL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I watch that tub of shit play everyday and no way is that fat fuck better than David Wright?
It's turned into a popularity contest instead of someone being voted an Allstar based on there performance.

You've been reading my mind. Plus, Sandoval hasn't played that many games thus far this season.

I think MLB counts the votes the way they want.

Sporting News picks Sandoval as their biggest "Undeserving" along with Jeter. Its been a popularity contest ever since the fans started voting the starting lineups back in the 70's, too bad, because there are some really great younger players that I would have liked to see, Aaron Hill being tops among them.

He's hit for the cycle a couple of times this season; Hill is one to keep an eye on.
On another note, it sounds like the Phils are in sell-off mode; ESPN was reporting they're looking to deal Cole Hamels and Shane Victorino, both of whom are in the last year of their contract. Do you think there will be any teams out there willing to play Rent-A-Player for a couple months?

Detroit could use Cole. They have been pretty weak after Verlander. They are running a 4 man rotation with pitchers 2-4 combined 4.5 ERA and 1.4 WHIP. In a weak division a good number 2 pitcher might make the difference for the second half of the season, and a nice insurance policy in case something happens to Verlander... if they have money in the budget.

Detroit might have to fight hard to keep the Yanks from getting him. Remember, they lost both CC Sabathia & Pettitte; CC will likely be back sooner (although he'll miss the All-Star Game), so they'll still need to make up for one pitcher.

Yeah, ive heard that the Yanks are looking at him. In any bidding war, I know who will win that. Where is Costanza when I need him, he'd fins a way to mess up that deal.

Hamels would be good for the Yanks, he could be the piece they need to win it all this year.
Back to the Allstar Game. Even the Giants radio station KNBR is asking how in the hell that fat fuck Sandoval got on the Allstar team let alone be a starter.

Well, at least they're not "Homers". I'll still watch the game anyway. Next year's All-Star Game will be at Shittyfield; Wright will probably be a starter then, but I doubt he'll be playing for the Mets by that time.

If the Mets make stay in the playoff hunt this season Wright will be there next year. If they start to stumble in the next couple of weeks, he's gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back to Allstar voting. I think the players should make the choices. Then you would get the ones that deserve to be there, not the ones that are popular.
