Well, will there be or will there not be an NBA season. So far all games for the month November have been canceled.
I think they should just cancel the whole season and see how long these millionaires can live without a pay check. Momma needs new shoes and the gang all need new guns. They might have to pawn off the girl friends new diamond ring and apply for food stamps soon.

Its DOA. The other side of the question is how long the teams can survive without an income. I would not be surprised if some of the very small market teams close up shop. The players can always go to Europe and make enough to pay the necessaries, not sure many of the owners have the resources to go without income.

Most of the owners are billionaries, so i think thye can hold on for a while. Who is getting hurt is the working people. Stadium employees, food servers, front office staffs.
Fuck the players they are all assholes.

Fuck the players they are all assholes. I predict this will be the NBA slogan for the 2012-13 season.

If any of the players get really hard up for cash, I am sure that the Washington Generals will have them for a few hundred a game against the Harlem Globetrotters.

Listening to Jason Schmidt on ESPN radio a couple of weeks ago. He thinks if the NBA season goes in the crapper that this could be the end of the NBA.

Perhaps, at least the NBA as we now know it. I could see a big market "elite" league and a smaller market "second string" league, with player salaries much lower in those smaller markets.

Well the millionaires turn down the offer again what a bunch of dumb shits. The entire season could be canceled by the end of the week.
Don't these idiots know that they are hurting more than themselves. What about all the little people that are losing income or their jobs because of players being so selfish.
Also let no forget the number of fans that they will lose. As of right know they lost me. i did the same thing to MLB in 93 when they went on strike. For 15 years i did not watch, listen to, attend, or buy any MLB merchandise. Matter of fact many players played their whole career and I never seen them play.
Well now I have just done the same thing to the NBA. Fuck'em.
Also don't they know that some of the teams might just fold their doors due to this. Every team that fold means 12 to 15 less jobs if they ever play again. Dumb bastards don't even know that they are cutting their throat.

They are very self-centered so of course they can't think about hurting anyone other than themselves; you don't get to be a professional athlete at that level by thinking about anything other than yourself.
Given the opportunities to play in other countries, I don't think they care if a few NBA teams go out of business; whether or not they are right thinking this, I have no idea, but that's what I believe their thought process is.

They are not going to get the money they get here from the teams over seas.
You could see some of these guys file bankruptcy. When the wives and girl friends have to start cleaning their own toilets these guys will ch-ch-change their minds real fast.

Cut the NBA back to 20 teams. 10 in the east 10 in the west. Top 4 in each division make the playoffs. 1 vs 3, 2 vs 4. You loose 12 teams, 480 marginal players. You get 20 teams, 300 good players, and a lots better basketball for your money.

Plus you play the marquee teams more frequently. OTOH, somebody still has to end up in last place... this year's mediocre team becomes next year's door mat.
