I wish I had a camera that could do justice to it, but there is a B-24 bomber that regularly flys low over Lake Travis. The rumble of the radial engines is distinctive and it is a beautiful plane.

I've had that experience too with a restored B-17? coming very low over the golf course and over our house. I couldn't scramble fast enough to get a picture and pull my pants back up at the same time.

There is a beautiful B17 that lives at the air museum in Galveston and flies up and down the beach on holidays. Loud.

Just hope you don't see Slim Pickens riding down on a bomb, waving his Stetson in the air and hootin' and hollerin'.....

The B-24 Liberator sounds like the name of an industrial-strength vibrator.

...one hundred dollars in rubles; one hundred dollars in gold; nine packs of chewing gum; one issue of prophylactics; three lipsticks; three pair of nylon stockings. Shoot, a fella' could have a pretty good weekend on Lake Travis with all that stuff.
