At age 77, if it hadnt happened then, the blockage would have killed him within a day. OTOH, I am sure that his family will cherish the jar of sour cream he won for his efforts.

I like pierogies but it takes me a half hour to eat 10.

This never would've happened if the Soviet Union had stayed together.

Well at least he won't have to worry about eating the sour cream before it's experation date.

Being the champion that he is, I'm sure that a little thing like death won't stop him from defending his title next year.

Still, it was worth it to win that jug of sour cream.

I hope he left a will. I'd hate to see his estate go into probate over the sour cream.

Hopefully his estate is big enough to cover the expense of refrigerating the sour cream until it clears probate. I also hope his family has some investments in Chive Futures, a balanced portfolio is critical in any financial planning situation.

Funny thing is, if the dumplings didn't kill him the gallon of sour cream would have.

Is 1 dump = 10 dumplings = 100 dingleberries = 1000 Ukrainian rubels still the current exchange rate?

Is 1 dump = 10 dumplings = 100 dingleberries = 1000 Ukrainian rubels still the current exchange rate? One flaw in your math: the guy died before he shit it out. I suppose that he and the meatball were destined to spend eternity together. If that isn't romantic, I don't know what is.

The sad part in all this is that it would have only taken someone with an advanced first aid certificate... or a plumber with a plunger to clear the blockage and save the old man's life and let him enjoy the urned sour cream he had earned

If the dumplings were filled with cabbage, he could have succumb to the extreme internal gas pressure too. I'm eating lighter and lighter meals these days.

I bet life insurance companies never thought to ask about "gorging" participation. I saw questions about parachuting, car racing and rock climbing but no mention of food consumption contests.

I always preferred The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again. I truly believe Godfather II used it as a blue print on how to make a successful sequel.
