Here are the recipes for the cocktails, along with a list of the appetizers that were served. I've just written about this on my latest blog post and included some photographs I took at the event. If you want to see the photos and/or read the blog post, please click here. Attachments:

Yep, it was fun trying those different combinations, but some of those appetizers might be a little too ambitious for my lazy ass.

Here the big thing is wine and food pairing. I still go by the old moto of, if you like drink it with what ever you eat.
One thing that I do like is chocolate with a nice red wine. It can either be Merlot, Cab, Zin, Syrah, or a red blend.
We belong to a food and wine club that meets once a month. A local caterer put's it on and recommends what wine to bring. Here's menu from last Monday night. Usually 75 people attend.

I did not bring a Pinot Noir. I brought a red blend called "Lot 96" from Foppiano vineyards.

That's a great menu -- your club sounds like fun. I can't believe it's only $35 including the corkage! Guess they shave the price a bit because it's a Monday night.
I agree with the "Listen to your palate" philosophy. At one of the scotch tastings I attended, they paired the scotches with different kinds of chocolate. And at a bourbon tasting, they served BBQ.

I forgot to emntion that for the $35.00 that's all you can eat. It's severed family style.
Bring a nice bottle of wine that I get at cost and for $50.00 it's a nice evening out.
There is also a different winery each month with free tasting of their wines. Usually you get three tastings. They hope you buy some of their wines or join their wine club.

All you can eat at that price is a great deal, especially with a menu like that.
BTW, what's the benefit of joining their wine club? I would assume it means that you are committing to buying a minimum number of bottles from them per month at some kind of discount, no?

You agree to have them ship you so many bottles of wine per month or every two months @ a 25% to 40% discount. It's great if you like certain wines. Most are at least 1 bottle per month.
For our food and wine club there are no dues. Anyone that would like to attend can, as long as you make reservations 4 days in advance and all the seat are not sold out.
