I heard only one song from this unusual combination and didn't care for it. Plant or Krauss individually are top performers of course but together it doesn't seem to work. Here's a NY Times article if you care Plant and/or Krauss fans. www.nytimes.com/2007/10/21/arts/music/21pare.html

Saw the ads in the paper this weekend for the new CD and I've got to admit that I'm curious about this - love Alison Krauss and Robert Plant - not sure that the small snippet they had on nytimes.com gave me enough to evaluate whether I liked it or not.
I'll have to do more research...

Plant/Krauss's Raising Sand is an excellent album; I only wish I could have see them on this tour. Here is a video of their rather brilliant "Please Read the Letter:"

I like that song - Alison Krauss really harmonizes so well! Thanks for posting - I may have to look into getting the cd too.

I met Robert Plant in Paris on May 12, He was just walking around with no entourage and I recognized him and actually went up and talked to him. Well, sort of talked, I was in such a state of shock, I just sort of mumbled and stuttered but he was very gracious and put up with my middle aged ramblings. I did ask him if he was going to tour with Led Zepplin in the future and he said he was planning to stay with Allison for the next while. They were in Paris together the next night, May 13. This was one of the highlights of our trip!

Plant is a genius and is significant as Beethoven. I don't often listen to Zeppelin or his more current sound but his mark in modern day music seems to be timeless. At least I can say I met someone who met Robert Plant!

Plus he seems to have a really big dick (at least from all the posters I slobbered over in the 70s!!)
Jo (seriously, I have been a Zepplin fanatic for over 30 years and meeting him was such a thrill for me!)
