I was surprised at all the Android users in the other thread, and it made me curious. Has Android overtaken iPhone among TNMC users? Just a quick poll to see what's up.
Feel free to elaborate if you like. For instance, I use a MyTouch 3G Slide (running Android 2.2.1) from T-Mobile, and love it........Jake

Still own the Original Droid. Looking to upgrade to the Bionic next month. The original is really starting to show it's age, particularly with screen redraw rates.
While it may be a long time before we get 4G down here in sticksville, it's still nice to have the option of 4G while traveling.
Anecdotal evidence for Verizon seems to support users experience lower 3G rates in areas that have been upgraded to 4G. Rochester really sucked for 3G, but their 4G rocked!
If I was getting anywhere near 3-4K d/l with 3G, I would be very happy. Usually 1.1-1.3K on Verizon.
Can't wait to try my son's Charge out in Chicago next week.

Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_(operating_system)"The Android operating system is currently the world's best-selling Smartphone platform" So, it may not necessarily be that surprising if there are more Android than iPhone users here. Droid Pro, Verizon, Android version 2.2.1.

I've had reliable use from my HTC Evo. It runs Android version 2.3.3. One of the best features for me is its physical size and the biggest draw back is getting used to the sensitive touch screen.

I am a cheap ass on this subject. I use a $20 Samsung that I picked up at Target. It does not take photos. I cannot ch-ch-change ring tones. It does only the basics. And it does the basics just barely.
I must admit it is a transition phone. My good one bit the dust just before Christmas. I wanted to wait until the new Iphone came out. And now I am thinking I may just go Ipad instead and use some sort of Skype arrangement.
But my $20 temp has done its job for 7 months now.

Droid X, Verizon, Android 2.2.1.
Personally I think Apple screwed themselves royally by initially tying themselves to one provider that was not ready to provide the type of service Apple users had come to expect from "their company". I have found that Apple users are dedicated to Apple products, for whatever flaws Jobs and company have, because the products are reliable. The quality of product that AT&T provided, especially initially, did not meet the standards that Apple users were used to, regardless how well that actual iPhone was put together. That opened the door for Android, and I think the market responded.

So, just as this corporate philosophy doomed their market share in the PC world, it will similarly doom their market share in the smartphone world?

iPhone here with AT&T. I ilke the damn thing plus it is easy to use. I dig. When non-geek friends ask my advice (at their peril!), I recommend they get an iPhone over an Android. Android is for people who would rather fuck around with it for hours on end than have something that is easy to use. People like me, that is.
