Denice and I went and seen it this afternoon. It starts out a little slow but once it picks up it turns out to be a good movie.
Lenard Nimoy is the voice of Sentinel Prime. There was a referral to a couple of Star Trek lines from his character in this movie. It was kind of funny.

I remember them filming this in Chicago. It caused all sorts of traffic headaches, but people were cool with it, since it looked like a fun movie. I'm looking forward to seeing it........Jake

You should. Chicago really catches hell in this movie.

Finally saw this movie on Netflix. I loved it! Stupid as all hell from a story perspective, but that's the point; it was just intended to be good clean fun. And I didn't think it started off slow at all; the way they showed how the Transformers impacted the Kennedy and Nixon administrations was brilliant.
The Nimoy quotes were part of the fun. At one point, Sentinel Prime (voiced by Nimoy) mentions how "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few." At another point, he mentions how "There can be only ONE!" which is a reference to how the look of Sentinel Prime was based on Sean Connery.
I also liked how the chick who replaced Megan Fox as Shia LaBeouf's love interest appears to have the same lip-collagen therapist as her predecessor. Still sexy as hell, though. Especially in the opening scene where she is slinking up the stairs in just a shirt.
Nice to see John Turturro return, and the additions of John Malkovich and Frances McDormand were great. Thus upping the "Coen Brothers Alumni Quotient" to possibly the highest of any movie in history.
All in all, one of the great "check your brain at the door" movies I've seen in a long time.
