And given the Lions luck, that is exactly what wont happen, then there will be a key off field injury and another 5-11 season (or will it be 5-13?)

The 18 game schedule is off the books. It might be more like a 3 -8 season.

If it wasn't for bad luck they wouldn't have any luck at all.

WTF Lions Stafford 12/14 passing and over 200yards in the first half against the Pats... I could be in the unfamiliar position the next couple months of potentially having to make a legitimate choice between watching the Lions or the Tigers some weekends... all that DVR money may not be wasted on wifes "Greys Anatomy" afterall.

It's about time Detroit gets a winner or two.

Following the Lions this year is bad for the heart, but in a good way. Last week they were 20 points down against the Vikings and won 23-20. This afternoon they were down 3-27 with 10 minutes left in the 4rd against the Cowboys, and they win 34-20. Biggest Dallas collapse in franchise history and biggest Lion comeback in franchise history... while I appreciate the results its requiring extra blood pressure meds.

Can Green Bay be stopped?? They are 13-0 and have the Chiefs, Bears and Lions left to play. Remarkably Detroit may offer the biggest obstacle, but GB has beat them already, and their game is in GB in New Years day, a recipe for any team to cringe at.
They look to be 16-0 going into the playoffs, it will be interesting to watch if they can clean the table in the post-season.
Meanwhile, the Colts seem to be looking to match the Lions 0-16 feat... they are welcome to the honor.

GB should be 12-1 now -- Giants were robbed of a TD last week by a blown call.
BTW, that Giant game last night vs. Cowboys was wild and that ending was pretty wacky.

Thanks Joe. Dont know if they will get a playoff win. NO in NO is a pretty big challenge. I would much rather we play against the Giants. After the past few years, just getting this far is a pretty good accomplishment. The team needs some maturity and control next year, if they can avoid the stupid penalties and work on technical aspects of their game, they could go deep into the playoffs next year.
Yesterday's game against GB was really one for the record books. Would have liked to see them hit a combined 1,000 passing yards, but hell 971 and 11 passing TD's WOW! Matt Flynn's stock went through the non-existant roof at Lambeau Field too. Helluva team where the backup QB can put those numbers up on the board.

New Orleans is going to be insane this weekend. The Saints take on Detroit on Saturday night. And then it is LSU-Alabama on Monday night. There is not a hotel room to be had. Let's call it a little pre Mardi Gras.

You never know what.s going to happen in the playoffs Gordon. Good luck Lions. Its going to take more than luck Joe. There is something like the curse of the Bambino when it comes to the Lions and NFL playoffs. In my 57 years, Detroit has won 1 NFL Championship (in 1957). Since then they are 1-12 in postseason, missing the playoffs completely in the 60's 80' and 00's. Of course they hold the record as the only franchise that has existed for the entire Superbowl era to never appear in it. Ive learned to keep my expectations low in this area, maybe they can surprise me.

Well, I think that any class in "Football 101" would make it pretty clear that no matter how well your offense plays, you cant win if your defense doesnt figure out how to stop your opponent on downs.
Not a single NO punt... pretty much tells the story, even with sever 3rd and more than 10 yards to go, and NO 3 for 3 on 4th downs, even 4th down plays in their own territory in the first half.
The Lions weaknesses were pretty clear and something for the coaches to work on in the off season. BUT, given where this team was 3 years ago, Im not going to complain.
NO is a real contender, and the 49ers will have their hands full next weekend.

Who knew Tebow could throw? Did Pitt make a mistake by not trying for the FG at the end of regulation?

You're a Raiders fan but don't you root for the Niners when the Raiders aren't in it? I root for the Giants when the Jets aren't in it (and can't believe they kicked Green Bay around the Tundra today)
