We were hanging around the Whole Foods Market last night and ran across "Healdsburg Ranches" Cabernet. This has to be one of your neighbors.
1) Is this a good wine?
2) Is ten bucks a good price?
Thanks.

Tex, I have never heard of it but will find out. It could be a side label from one of the wineries around hear.
$10.00 for any bottle of wine is good.
I will get back to you on this shortly.

Made a quick inquiry. What I thought they are a off label of Hambrecht Wine Group. This label is not a specific winery, just one made up for marketing purposes. Their main company used to Belvedere Winery (like the vodka) but they had some financial trouble about 3 years ago and sold the marking rights to the name Belvedere to the vodka company. They also sold several ranches to bail themselves out.
I heard that they just recently reopened but did not know of what name they are using right now. They used to make some decent wines a few years back so this one should be good.

My industry is similar in that companies rename product by region and even from town to town sometimes. What is "Myers" here is "Laurelhurst" in New Jersey.
The single constant is Stainmaster fiber, yikes!
DuPont is in high gear pushing their brand, people are becoming brainwashed.

Gallo is good for marketing names. They must have 10 different ones that I know of.

Tex. We tried some the "Healdsburg Ranches" Zinfandel last night and found it to be a very very good wine for it's price point.
