It's Spring here and the flowers are blooming - had a beer at the nude beach yesterday. If the weather here was like this year round, everyone would want to live here (but they don't).
Former Hedo EC Buffy and her husband will be staying with us this weekend. Looking forward to seeing them again.

Anyone interested in some snow covered land and homes in Illinois and Michigan?

We don't get the snow but it is raining side ways here right now. Just flat out pouring and a southeast wind at about 10mph.

The kinfolks said, "Jed, move away from there." I used to wonder why people in Minnesota, or the UP, or Fargo, stay there? Why don't they move someplace nicer? But then, I realized people in the south probably say the same thing about where I live. I tried moving somewhere with better weather (San Diego). It just didn't work. Something about "home" sticks in your DNA, like it or not.

Actually, most people who live around here because they cannot imagine why anyone in their right mind would want to live in Florida, Texas, Chicago, etc.
Variety!

Maybe what you grow up with seems normal. If it's below 80, my wife feels cold.

I think that does have a lot to do with it Tex. Age and life situation can modify it some, but those first 15 or so years, especially from 10-15 means a lot. Heather has spent the winter in Tallahassee, but she hasnt felt its been a winter at all. OTOH, Ann grew up in southern Pennsylvania, and wouldnt want to go back because its "too hot"

When my daughter came home for winter break she found downstate temperatures of 15 degrees to be quite comfortable compared to the "north country". Three months below zero makes you adapt. She tells me the kids play frisbee in shorts when it hits 30 degrees. Youth!

See that here all the time, in fact back in February we had a dorm party at the curling club and a guy showed up dressed exactly how you describe. And bicycles are out year round in these parts (for that matter, I use my grill almost weekly, even in January, only thing that stops me if the wind is blowing too hard.)

6:30 PM and it's still 93 degrees here but in the 40s in Chicago and the 30s in Gordon's country. We need rain.

Muggy, drizzly, windy, I think I moved to the mid-west. Sucks. It is going to be that way up to next Tuesday.
