How often do you hear about an entirely new type of food that you never knew existed before? Not often, that's how often! Anyway, I recently became aware of a tasty morsel called a jibarito. Basically, it is like a Cuban sandwich, but stuck between two flattened, fried green plantains instead of bread. They are very popular in the Hispanic beaneries around Chicago. I'm not sure how widespread they are elsewhere. They are tasty as hell, and give you that feeling of being in the sunny, sultry Caribbean, which I'm sure we all know and love. Anyone else found these in their local barrios?........Jake
